The dust collection portion is configured to accumulate dust suctioned from the nozzle. The sliding portion includes a guided portion supported by a guiding portion disposed on the main body case. The guided portion is supported slidably in a front-rear direction, and the guiding portion and the guided portion are disposed in a region on a half side with respect to a line on a cross section passing through a center of the sliding portion.

Systems and methods for real-time monitoring of micromilling tool wear

The wear status of a micro-endmill tool may be inferred by monitoring the chip production rate of the tool in operation. Chips may be extracted from a work area, captured on an adhesive surface, imaged, and counted to determine the chip production rate. When the rate of chip production falls, the feed rate of the micro-endmill may be modified to a level suitable for the current state of tool wear. In this manner, costly and inconvenient work stoppages to evaluate the wear status of a tool are eliminated.

INDEXABLE PLENUM
20180161948 · 2018-06-14 ·

An indexable plenum and a method of using the plenum to collect dust and/or debris during a cutting or milling process are disclosed. The plenum, when attached to the spindle nose of a conventional machine, enables the conventional machine that does not have a hollow spindle nose to be used with a hollow or conventional solid cutter to remove dust and/or debris generated during the cutting process. The indexable plenum comprises a hollow body and a base plate. Hollow bodies of different shape and size that are able to fit differently shaped and sized cutters are disclosed. The hollow bodies can be designed to releasably engage with the same base plate such that when the base plate is attached to the machine spindle nose, hollow bodies can be exchanged during a milling or cutting process to accommodate correspondingly shaped/sized cutters. In various embodiments, the object that is cut or milled is low density foam.

Ejector drill system

A drilling head for a tubular shank having an inside diameter and threads may comprise an axial body comprising a duct exiting through a first end; threads adjacent the first end corresponding to the threads on the shank and aligning the duct with the shank inside diameter; a bore from an outer surface of the body to the duct; and two axially extending approximately parallel and offset surfaces adjacent a second end; and an insert affixed between the offset surfaces, the insert comprising: a first face at least partially contacting one offset surface and a second face at least partially contacting the other offset surface; one or more cutting edges adjacent the first face, the second face, or both; and a cutting lip adjacent one or more cutting edges.

Ratcheting quick-adjust drilling jig

A quick adjust ratcheting pocket hole jig is presented. The pocket hole jig has a base with a removable upright connected thereto. A guide assembly is slidably received within the upright. Removable and replaceable side supports are connected to the base by way of a dove tail joint. Removable and replaceable adjustable stops are connected to the base by way of key holes. A clamp assembly is connected to the base having a handle portion and a clamp follower. The clamp follower has a ratcheting mechanism and a compressible plunger assembly. The clamp follower can quickly be adjusted using a button on the clamp follower that disengages the ratcheting member such that it can be quickly adjusted. When the handle is operated, it draws the clamp follower towards the upright and guide assembly compressing the spring loaded plunger assembly thereby quickly and tightly and adjustably holding a workpiece therebetween.

Hole saw drill guide

A hole saw drill guide is described. The drill guide can be used when drilling holes in pipe or tubes. The hole saw drill guide includes a guide tube base assembly and an arbor shaft assembly. The guide tube base assembly is chained or otherwise secured to a pipe. The arbor shaft assembly is removably engaged with the guide tube base assembly and during use of the device, rotates within a guide tube of the base.

Hole-drilling device for drilling hole with expanded diameter hole portion
09950445 · 2018-04-24 · ·

A device for drilling a hole with an expanded diameter includes: a body, a shank; a sleeve; a compression spring; a drill bit body; an expanded diameter hole portion forming member attached to a side surface of the drill bit body and configured such that a cutting bit protrudes laterally from the drill bit body when the expanded diameter hole portion forming member moves forward on the side surface; a compression spring, which urges the expanded diameter hole portion forming member rearward relative to the drill bit body; and a cam. The expanded diameter hole portion forming member is configured to move forward on the side surface of the drill bit body owing to rotation of the cam when the body moves forward relative to the sleeve.

Power tool

A power tool includes a drilling tool and a dust collector configured to be removably attached to the drilling tool. The dust collector includes a dust collector body, a passage part provided in the dust collector body and having elasticity, and a storing part configured to be removably attached to the dust collector body and to store dust. The passage part includes a drilling tool mounting port part configured to be connected to the drilling tool while pressing a specified region of the drilling tool, and a storing part mounting port part configured to be connected to the storing part while pressing a specified region of the storing part. Air containing the dust is led through the dust collector body to the storing part, and the air from which the dust has been separated in the storing part is led through the passage part into the drilling tool.
