Reclosable Flexible Film Packaging Products and Methods of Manufacture

The present disclosure relates to a reclosable flexible film package with a flexible film having a fold forming a folded edge, at least two opposing free edges, and at least a front panel and a back panel, where the opposing free edges are sealed together to form at least one sealed edge such that front and back panels define an interior space. The flexible film package also may have a score in the flexible film of the front panel forming a flap that defines an opening when the flap is moved upward, toward the folded edge and a label extending uninterrupted from edge to edge, the label being attached on the film by pressure sensitive adhesive, and extending beyond the score on the front panel to reseal the package opening defined by the flap.

LASER CUT COMPOSITE GLASS ARTICLE AND METHOD OF CUTTING

The present disclosure relates to a process for cutting and separating arbitrary shapes of thin substrates of transparent materials, particularly tailored composite fusion drawn glass sheets, and the disclosure also relates to a glass article prepared by the method. The developed laser method can be tailored for manual separation of the parts from the panel or full laser separation by thermally stressing the desired profile. The self-separation method involves the utilization of an ultra-short pulse laser that can be followed by a CO.sub.2 laser (coupled with high pressure air flow) for fully automated separation.

HAND-TEARABLE MASKING TAPE WITH SILICONE-CONTAINING LOW ADHESION BACKSIZE
20170218234 · 2017-08-03 ·

A hand-tearable masking tape, comprising a plastic backing with a low adhesion backsize on the first major side of the backing and a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the second major side of the backing; wherein the second major side of the backing comprises a microstructured hand-tear pattern and wherein the low adhesion backsize comprises the reaction product of a mercapto-functional silicone macromer.

Reclosable flexible packaging and methods for manufacturing same

Flexible film packages having a partial, initial seal against ambient atmosphere and are easily openable and reclosable. The flexible film packages are generally resealable to extend the shelf-life or freshness of products contained therein once the package is initially opened. By one approach, the flexible film has two opposing edge portions that meet to form a longitudinal seal extending from a first end seal to a second end seal. The flexible film may have a score that defines a package opening. An elongated closure layer (14) may extend over the score and may extend from a first end seal (26) to a second end seal (28) and within the opposing edge portions that form the longitudinal seal (24). The elongated closure layer may have a tack-free gripping portion (40) used to release at least a portion of the elongated closure from the flexible film to form the package opening.

TRANSPARENT MATERIAL PROCESSING WITH AN ULTRASHORT PULSE LASER
20170190000 · 2017-07-06 · ·

A method for scribing transparent materials uses ultrashort laser pulses to create multiple scribe features with a single pass of the laser beam across the material, with at least one of the scribe features being formed below the surface of the material. This enables clean breaking of transparent materials at a higher speed than conventional techniques.

Absorbent composite sheet, roll of such a sheet, packet of sheets, and manufacturing process

An absorbent composite sheet for domestic use includes a first ply of paper, with a degree of absorption of liquids equal to or greater than around 5 (g/g CEN standard), and a second superposed ply composed of a metal-containing layer, the thickness of the second ply being equal to or less than around 10 microns (m).
