Pattern carpet tiles and methods of making and using same

A carpet tile having a contrast pattern intermixed with a portion of a background pattern. The contrast pattern is positioned proximate a selected side edge of the carpet tile and has a contrast color different than the colors of the background pattern. Within a floor covering, the rotational position of the carpet tile can be varied to thereby achieve a desired visual appearance with respect to the contrast patterns of adjacent carpet tiles.

Crystal block array and method of manufacture

A novel method of making a crystal block array (configured for coupling with photodetectors as part of an integrated detector module useful in advanced PET scanner systems) is disclosed herein. The novel method comprises a series of cutting, polishing, and assembling steps that utilize reflective sheet material. The crystal block arrays disclosed herein may be of various dimensions and geometries and are amenable to mass production.

Base For Turf System

An underlayment layer is configured to support an artificial turf assembly. The underlayment layer comprises a core with a top side and a bottom side. The top side has a plurality of spaced apart, upwardly oriented projections that define channels suitable for fluid flow along the top side of the core when the underlayment layer is positioned beneath an overlying artificial turf assembly.

Volatile material dispensers are disclosed that include a substrate having a first wall portion with a first grasping portion and a second wall portion with a second grasping portion. The first wall portion and the second wall portion are substantially coplanar in a first state. The volatile material dispensers may further include at least one hinge joining the first wall portion and the second wall portion along a central axis and an insect control active. At least one of the first wall portion and the second wall portion is moveable about the central axis to form a configuration in which the first and the second wall portions are substantially not coplanar in a second state. The first grasping portion and the second grasping portion are coaxial with the central axis in the first state and the second state.

Composite Weldable Panel with Embedded Devices

A hybrid composite panel suitable for forming a container includes a wood layer and a fiber-reinforced polymer composite layer having a sensor system embedded therein. The wood layer is laminated plywood that includes at least one of hard and soft wood, solid-sawn tongue-and-groove hardwood planks, and partially laminated solid-sawn hardwood.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a lightweight composite material structure while suppressing a drop in strength. In a composite material structure, which is configured as a fiber-reinforced plastic composite material extending in one direction and having a plurality of holes (5) formed at intervals in a row in the one direction and which is subjected to a tensile load and/or a compressive load in the one direction, a peripheral region (3a) around the holes (5) comprises a first area (10) obtained by bending composite material, which is reinforced using continuous fibers that have been made even in the longitudinal direction, so that the center line of the width (W) of the composite material weaves between adjacent holes (5) and zigzags in the one direction. The tensile rigidity and/or compressive rigidity in the one direction of the peripheral region (3a) around the holes (5) is lower than the tensile rigidity and/or the compressive rigidity in the one direction of the other regions (3b) that surround the peripheral regions (3a).

Modular construction system
09534380 · 2017-01-03 · ·

A modular construction system in which a number of three dimensional construction elements are adjoined to form a modular wall, ceiling or floor assembly. In their pre-assembly condition, each three dimensional construction element is formed from a planar metallic sheet (10) sub-divided by fold lines (12a, 12b) into panels (14, 16, 18) defining a multi-panelled sheet. Each panel lies in a common plane and at least one of the panels is deformable along its fold lines out of said common plane to form an assembled three-dimensional construction element for adjoining to other three-dimensional construction elements. At least one panel is provided with an opening (14a, 16a) dimensioned to allow the passage of a reinforcement or stabilizing material through the assembled three-dimensional construction element.
