Environmental barrier coating with oxygen-scavenging particles having barrier shell
A gas turbine engine article includes a substrate and an environmental barrier coating disposed on the substrate. The environmental barrier coating includes oxygen-scavenging particles. Each oxygen-scavenging particle includes a silicon-containing core particle encased in an oxygen barrier shell.
Bathless metal-composite electroplating
A bathless plating for a conductive material with composite particles or with high surface coverage. The setup for the bathless electro-plating includes a cathode, a composite mixture, a membrane, and an anode. The cathode is a conductive material. The composite mixture comprises a metal salt, an acid, and a composite material. The composite mixture is applied to the cathode. A hydrophilic membrane is applied to the composite mixture. An anode, with oxidizing properties, is applied to the membrane. A current is applied to the bathless setup. Upon removing the current and composite mixture from the cathode, a metal-based composite coating remains on the cathode.
Surface coated member and method for manufacturing same
A surface coated member having improved stability and a longer service life is provided. The surface coated member includes a base member and a hard coating formed on a surface thereof. The hard coating is constituted of one or more layers. At least one layer among the layers is a layer including hard particles. The hard particles include a multilayer structure having a first unit layer and a second unit layer being layered alternately. The first unit layer includes a first compound. The second unit layer includes a second compound. The first compound and the second compound are respectively made of one or more kind of element selected from the group consisting of a group 4 element, a group 5 element, a group 6 element of a periodic table, and Al, and one or more kind of element selected from the group consisting of B, C, N, and O.
Adhesive film and display member including the same
An adhesive film is formed of an adhesive composition that includes a monomer mixture including a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylate and a comonomer, and nanoparticles. The adhesive film has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of about −20° C. or less, an index of refraction of about 1.40 to about 1.55, and a haze of about 3% or less at a thickness of 100 μm.
Insulation panel for construction and manufacturing method thereof
A multilayer thermal insulation panel for construction and manufacturing method thereof are described. The multilayer thermal insulation panel comprising: a main layer in thermally insulating material comprising a first surface and an opposite second surface; a first backing layer of the main layer connected to the main layer along the first surface; a second backing layer of the main layer connected to the main layer along the second surface. At least one of the first and second backing layers comprising: a reinforcement layer in fibrous material, a fire-resistant layer comprising expansive graphite, and a cladding layer made on the reinforcement layer and configured to be sandwiched between the fire-resistant layer and the reinforcement layer.
Sprayable water-based adhesive
Water-based adhesive compositions are improved by the incorporation of hollow polymeric microspheres having outer surfaces coated with one or more barrier materials such as calcium carbonate particles. The adhesive compositions exhibit enhanced rheology, sprayability, drying time, tack and storage stability as compared to analogous adhesives that are not modified with coated hollow polymeric microspheres. Such compositions are useful as both contact adhesives as well as wet bonding one-way adhesives.
Acoustic ceiling board with improved aesthetics
Described herein are acoustical panels, comprising: a substrate; a non-woven veil having an airflow resistance of greater than 45 mks rayls, comprising: from about 20 wt. % to about 60 wt. % glass fibers; from about 40 wt. % to about 80 wt. % of a filler; and from about 110 dry g/m.sup.2 to about 135 dry g/m.sup.2 of a coating. Methods of making and using the panels are also described.

Anisotropic conductive film and connection structure
An anisotropic conductive film which suppresses occurrence of short circuit at the time of anisotropic conductive connection, prevents reduction in capturing capability of electrically conductive particles, enables favorable pushing of electrically conductive particles and exhibits not only favorable initial conductivity but also favorable conduction reliability, contains a first electrically conductive particle group and a second electrically conductive particle group, each including a plurality of electrically conductive particles, in an insulating binder. The first electrically conductive particle group and the second electrically conductive particle group are present in a first region and a second region, respectively, which differ from each other in the thickness direction of the anisotropic conductive film and are parallel to the plane direction. Moreover, the first electrically conductive particle group and the second electrically conductive particle group differ from each other in an existence state of the electrically conductive particles.
