Wash monitor and method of use
The present disclosure provides a monitoring device comprising a test composition, a test element comprising a test portion to which the test composition is releasably adhered, a detection reagent, and a container comprising a first end with an opening and a second end opposite the first end. The test composition comprises a predetermined quantity of tracer analyte. The container is configured to receive the test portion and configured to be operationally coupled to an analytical instrument. The tracer analyte and the detection reagent each are capable of participating in one or more chemical reaction that results in the formation of a detectable product. A method of using the monitoring device to assess the efficacy of a washing process is also provided.
Rare earth spatial/spectral microparticle barcodes for labeling of objects and tissues
Polymer microparticles spatially and spectrally encoded using upconversion nanocrystals (UCN) are described for labeling of articles and tissues. UCN having spectrally distinguishable emission spectra are disposed in different portions of an encoding region of each microparticle.
Marker compositions, and methods for making and using same
The present disclosure provides compositions, methods, and systems for identifying marked hydrocarbon fluids. These compositions, methods, and systems utilize a gas chromatography marker including a pyrrolidinone. The methods and systems can identify the presence or absence of the gas chromatography marker and/or the pyrrolidinone. The compositions, methods, and systems can optionally utilize a spectroscopic marker.
FLUORESCENT METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR DIRECTED BIOMARKER SIGNAL AMPLIFICATION
Methods and compositions are provided that include a multichromophore and/or multichromophore complex for identifying a target biomolecule. A sensor biomolecule, for example, an antibody can be covalently linked to the multichromophore. Additionally, a signaling chromophore can be covalently linked to the multichromophore. The arrangement is such that the signaling chromophore is capable of receiving energy from the multichromophore upon excitation of the multichromophore. Since the sensor biomolecule is capable of interacting with the target biomolecule, the multichromophore and/or multichromophore complex can provide enhanced detection signals for a target biomolecule.
METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING OF A BIOLOGICAL SAMPLE OF A MAMMAL, COMPOSITION FOR USE IN THIS METHOD AND KIT FOR PERFORMANCE OF THIS METHOD
The invention relates to methods through which a biological sample of a mammal can be precisely assigned and identified, comprising administering at least one essentially non-metabolizable marker substance and a dye.
Tagged ligands for enrichment of rare analytes from a mixed sample
Method of enriching specific cells from cellular samples are disclosed, comprising contacting in solution a cellular sample with affinity-tagged ligands (ATLs) each comprising a first ligand linked to an affinity tag, wherein the ligand selectively binds a cellular marker of the rare cells and the affinity tag can be selectively captured by a capture moiety, wherein the affinity tags do not comprise a magnetic particle; and flowing the sample through a microfluidic device comprising the capture moiety to selectively retain ATL-bound cells. Methods for enriching circulating tumor cells, and devices for enriching specific cells from cellular samples are also disclosed.
Wax tracers
A method for monitoring precipitation of a wax component in a hydrocarbon fluid stream i) using a labelled wax introduced in a fluid transport system at one in-flow point and measuring its absolute or relative concentration at one out-flow point is provided. A method for generating a labelled wax, and the use of a labelled wax is also provided.
Fluorescent dye molecules having hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity for tracer applications
Functionalized fluorescent tracers, methods of making the tracers, and methods of using the tracers are provided. In some implementations, the fluorescent tracers include a functionalized fluorescent dye. The functionalized fluorescent dye includes an isothiocyanate-containing dye functionalized with a functional group that includes a primary amine. In some implementations, a method of tracing fluid flow in a subterranean formation includes mixing the functionalized fluorescent tracer into a fluid, flowing the tracer fluid into a subterranean formation, recovering a sample from a subterranean formation, and analyzing the sample for a fluorescent signal and a barcode functional group.
Mineral wool product
The invention relates to a mineral wool product comprising mineral fibers that is marked with an UV or IR active substance and can therefore be identified under exposure to suitable radiation.
