Cotendered nonwoven/pulp fabric and method for making the same
10259192 · 2019-04-16 · ·

The present invention is directed to a nonwoven fabric made from a composite of nonwoven and pulp where the nonwoven has a high loft derived from a heat set three-dimensional relief structure and/or hydroengorged fiber structure. A nonwoven web is hydraulically treated to create a hydroengorged material having an increased loft. Alternatively a nonwoven web is treated to have a heat set three-dimensional relief structure. The treated web is then hydroentangled with pulp to form a cotendered nonwoven/pulp composite fabric.

Composite insulating film

Provided is a flexible and self-supporting insulating film including a base support layer and a partially cured poly(amide)imide layer applied to the base support layer. The composite insulating film may be used as slot liner to provide insulation to the components of the electric motor. The partially cured poly(amide)imide layer of the composite insulation film maybe further cured by the heat generated by the operation of the electric motor.

Textile part, composite material element with textile part, and production method for the same
10190239 · 2019-01-29 · ·

A textile part is configured for producing a composite-material element (11) or a composite-material body (12). The textile part (10) has a reinforcing system (15) including reinforcing warp threads (16) and reinforcing weft threads (17), and a binding system (25) with binding warp threads (27) and binding weft threads (26). The reinforcing system (15) has at least one first portion (20), into which the reinforcing threads (16, 17) are interwoven with one another directly for binding to facilitate withstanding high mechanical. The reinforcing system (15) also has at least one second portion (21), in which the reinforcing threads (16, 17) form binding-free crossover locations (22) preferably laid on one another in a drawn-out state to constitute a laid structure surrounded by the binding threads (26, 27). The laid structure of the reinforcing system (15), ensures particularly good draping and deformation capability at this location of the composite material.

Hydrophobic additive for use with fabric, fiber, and film
10189959 · 2019-01-29 · ·

The present invention relates to a hydrophobic additive for use with fabric, fiber, and film. One aspect of the present invention comprises a master batch composition for use in preparing a non-woven fabric in order to increase the hydrophobicity of the non-woven fabric. In one embodiment, the master batch composition includes a polymer and a lipid ester. The lipid ester comprises 10 wt. % to 40 wt. % of the master batch. The fabric, when including the master batch composition, has a contact angle ranging from 100 to 125 when measured according to test method ASTM D2578.
