An article, such as a tissue bonding article, includes a flexible material, a polymerization initiator or rate modifier disposed in or on the flexible material, and a polymerizable adhesive composition permeated throughout at least a portion of the flexible material, where the polymerization initiator or rate modifier is a polymerization initiator or rate modifier for the polymerizable adhesive composition.

Fiber-reinforced resin hollow body and manufacturing method for same

A fiber-reinforced resin hollow body includes an axial-direction fiber layer containing reinforcing fibers aligned parallel to an axial direction of the hollow body, and a non-axial-direction fiber layer provided on top of at least one of an internal and an external side of the axial-direction fiber layer, and containing reinforcing fibers oriented in a direction different from the alignment direction of the axial-direction fiber layer. The non-axial-direction fiber layer includes one or more peripheral-direction fiber layers containing reinforcing fibers aligned parallel to a peripheral direction of the hollow body, and one or more non-aligned fiber layers containing reinforcing fibers not aligned in a specific direction.

Injection molded composite blank and guide

This specification discloses an article of manufacture. The article of manufacture has at least one structural blank and at least one guide. The structural blank has a plurality of oriented fiber plies in a thermoplastic matrix. The guide has a plurality of random dispersed fibers in a thermoplastic matrix. The guide is affixed to the structural blank by injection molding and over molding the guide onto the structural blank. The article of manufacture can take a number of forms for use in industries such as aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, trains or watercraft.

POLYPROPYLENE-BASED ADHESIVE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

A polypropylene-based adhesive containing a polypropylene-based resin (A′) prepared by reducing the weight-average molecular weight of a polypropylene-based resin (A) by decomposition, in which the melting endotherm (ΔH-D) of the polypropylene-based resin (A) is 0 J/g or more and 80 J/g or less, as obtained from a melting endothermic curve drawn by holding a sample at −10° C. for 5 minutes in a nitrogen atmosphere followed by heating it at 10° C./min using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC).

Adhesion composition and textile materials and articles treated therewith
11066582 · 2021-07-20 · ·

This invention relates to improved adhesion compositions and textile materials and articles treated therewith. The improved adhesion composition comprises a non-crosslinked resorcinol-formaldehyde and/or resorcinol-furfural condensate (or a phenol-formaldehyde condensate that is soluble in water), a rubber latex, and an aldehyde component such as 2-furfuraldehyde. The composition may be applied to textile substrates and used for improving the adhesion between the treated textile substrates and rubber materials. End-use articles that contain the treated textile-rubber composite include, without limitation, automobile tires, belts, and hoses as well as printing blankets.

A rigid ballistic-resistant composite includes large denier per filament (dpf) yarns. The yarns are held in place by a resin to form a rigid composite panel with improved ballistic performance. The large dpf yarns may be selected from aromatic heterocyclic co-polyamide fibers, polyester-polyarylate fibers, high modulus polypropylene (HMPP) fibers, ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers, poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole) (PBO) fibers, poly-diimidazo pyridinylene (dihydroxy) phenylene (PIPD) fibers, carbon fibers, and polyolefin fibers.

NEW BINDER COMPOSITION

The invention relates to a new binder composition which is particularly suitable for the manufacture of composite materials utilizing such new binder composition in the required nonwoven materials. Composite materials using such new binder composition in their nonwoven part are suitable, in particular, for composites materials for interior construction, for linings, floor coverings, and for the manufacture of furniture and similar products.

Structure reinforcement partial shell
10968631 · 2021-04-06 ·

A method and an article of manufacture are disclosed for reinforcing various structures with only partially accessible circumference, such as columns closely adjacent to or protruding out of a wall or beams holding a ceiling. Some of these structures may be partly or completely submerged in water, such as retaining walls on the sides of rivers and water-ways. In some embodiments a prefabricated shell will fully or partly cover the exposed and reachable part of the structure and will be secured in place by various means. The shell may hug the structure tightly or loosely and the space between the shell and the structure may be filled with such curable materials as glue, epoxy, grout, concrete and the like. In various embodiments additional reinforcement such as rebar may be placed in the space between the shell and the structure.
