A non-coated air bag fabric is a fabric constituted by synthetic fibers, and the fabric has a cover factor of 2300 or more, a height difference between a recess and a protrusion on a surface of the fabric is less than 130 μm, and a P ratio expressed by the following equation is 0.85 to 1.15 inclusive. The P ratio=HP.sub.100/HP.sub.80 where HP.sub.80 indicates air permeability after a load is applied to the fabric under a condition of 80° C., and HP.sub.100 indicates air permeability after a load is applied to the fabric under a condition of 100° C.

Partially degradable fibers and microvascular materials formed from the fibers

A partially degradable polymeric fiber includes a thermally degradable polymeric core and a coating surrounding at least a portion of the core. The thermally degradable polymeric core includes a polymeric matrix including a poly(hydroxy-alkanoate), and a metal selected from the group consisting of an alkali earth metal and a transition metal, in the core polymeric matrix. The concentration of the metal in the polymeric matrix is at least 0.1 wt %. The partially degradable polymeric fiber may be used to form a microvascular system containing one or more microfluidic channels.

Fiber-containing composites are described that contain woven or non-woven fibers, and a cured binder formed from a binder composition that includes (1) a reducing sugar and (2) a crosslinking agent that includes a reaction product of a urea compound and a polycarbonyl compound. Exemplary reaction products for the crosslinking agent may include the reaction product of urea and an α,β-bicarbonyl compound or an α,γ-bicarbonyl compound. Exemplary fiber-containing composites may include fiberglass insulation.

SILICA GLASS YARN AND SILICA GLASS CLOTH
20210310161 · 2021-10-07 ·

Provided are a silica glass yarn and a silica glass cloth which have a signal transmission speed that is made stable through stabilization of a characteristic impedance in addition to a low dielectric constant and a low loss. The silica glass yarn has a yarn habit density of 0.10 piece/cm or less of yarn habits each having a bending point with a radius of curvature of 5 mm or less and a bending angle of 120° or less. It is preferred that the silica glass yarn have a tensile strength of 2.0 GPa or more, and silica glass filaments forming the silica glass yarn each have a breaking start strength of 80.0% or more of the tensile strength of the silica glass yarn.

Wrappable textile sleeve having supplemental lace closure and method of construction thereof
11136710 · 2021-10-05 · ·

A wrappable textile sleeve with closure system and method of construction is provided. The sleeve has a wall of interlaced yarn with opposite edges extending in a lengthwise direction along a longitudinal axis between opposite ends. The opposite edges are wrappable into overlapping relation with one another to form a tubular cavity. The wall has a first set of closed loops positioned adjacent one of the opposite edges and a second set of closed loops positioned adjacent the other of the opposite edges. At least one flexible lace is disposed through the closed loops in a zig-zag pattern, thereby extending back-and-forth between the first set of loops and the second set of loops. The flexible lace is slidable through the plurality of loops to facilitate drawing and maintaining the opposite edges in overlapping relation with one another.
