Multi-phase delivery compositions and products incorporating such compositions
The present disclosure relates to compositions that are useful in the delivery of various materials. In particular, the compositions comprise a suspension wherein an internal phase material is surrounded by an external phase material. The internal phase specifically can be a hydrophilic material, and the external phase specifically can be a hydrophobic material. The materials are combined so that the internal phase is substantially encapsulated by the external phase such that release can be controlled in relation to osmotic pressure differentials. The suspension can be combined with a carrier, and various systems and products can be formed with the suspension and optional carrier, such as oral strips, spray delivery systems, smokeless tobacco products, aerosol delivery devices, cigarettes, and packaging.
EMULSIONS AND DERIVATIVES FOR INFUSING HYDROPHOBIC ACTIVE AGENTS INTO AN EDIBLE PRODUCT
Provided are edible products infused with an emulsion containing one or more active agents.
Compositions and methods for dental mineralization
The present invention relates to compositions for mineralizing a dental surface, in particular tooth enamel. Methods of mineralizing hypomineralized lesions (including subsurface lesions) in the tooth enamel caused by dental caries, dental corrosion and fluorosis are also provided. In particular, the invention relates to a method of mineralizing a dental surface or subsurface comprising contacting the dental surface or subsurface with a compound that is capable of increasing or maintaining the pH of a solution and a mineralizing agent.
Treatment for periodontitis
The present invention relates to compositions and their use for oral care. In particular, the compositions and methods are for maintaining oral health and/or treating various oral conditions such as gingivitis. The present invention relates to methods and uses of stabilized amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) and/or stabilized amorphous calcium fluoride phosphate (ACFP) in the preparation of a medicament for reducing pathogenic oral bacteria at an oral site in an individual; increasing commensal oral bacteria at an oral site in an individual; decreasing the proportion of pathogenic oral bacteria at an oral site in an individual; inhibiting oral dysbiosis; reducing gingival inflammation in an individual in need thereof; treating gingivitis in an individual in need thereof; and treating chronic gingivitis in an individual in need thereof.
Nicotine delivery product, related uses and oral dosage forms, and methods of production
The present invention relates to a nicotine delivery product comprising, or even consisting essentially of, a population of nicotine-loaded cation exchange resin particles, said population comprises at least 50% (w/w) particles having a size in the range of 90-300 micron which provides an improved nicotine stability to oral dosage forms comprising the nicotine delivery product. The invention furthermore relates to methods of producing the nicotine delivery product and the oral dosage forms and to the use of the nicotine delivery product.
CANNABINOID AND SUGAR ALCOHOL COMPLEX, METHODS TO MAKE AND USE
The present invention generally relates to a sugar alcohol and cannabinoid complex, and methods to prepare this complex from cannabinoid oil comprising at least one cannabinoid. The complex is in solid form and may be used in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic formulations, and medical devices wherein solid forms of cannabinoid are desirable. This complex also enhances release of active cannabinoids in oral consumption. Methods to make this complex are also disclosed.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR INHIBITING BIOFILM DEPOSITION AND PRODUCTION
The invention provides a method for combating biofilm, said method comprising contacting a biofilm with a composition comprising effective amounts of one or more biofilm degrading enzymes in combination with antimicrobial agents or antimicrobial essential oils. The biofilm may be on an animate or inanimate surface and both medical and non-medical uses and methods are provided. In a preferred aspect the invention provides a composition and method for use in the treatment or prevention of a biofilm infection in a subject, particularly in the oral cavity.
MANNOSE-BINDING LECTIN FOR TREATMENT OR PROPHYLAXIS OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES
The present invention is, inter alia, directed towards mannose-binding lectin and compositions comprising mannose-binding lectin for use in treatment or prophylaxis, towards compositions comprising mannose-binding lectin and towards the use of mannose-binding lectin and said compositions. Mannose-binding lectin, or portions thereof are applied locally according to the invention. MBL is binding to a pathogen to prevent it from binding to a host cell by blocking the binding sites of the pathogen. As a result, infection or transmission of disease can be avoided.
Soft oral product
An oral product includes a body that is wholly receivable in an oral cavity. The body includes a polymer matrix and one or more flavorants and/or active ingredients embedded in the polymer matrix. The polymer matrix can include a copolymer of ethylene and one or more vinyl monomers or zein. For example, the polymer can be ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. In some cases, the oral product can include tobacco and/or nicotine.
BETEL QUID CESSATION THERAPY WITH NICOTINE AND PILOCARPINE
Provided herein are compositions comprising nicotine, or a salt thereof, and pilocarpine, or a salt thereof, useful for reducing the use of betel quid and/or achieving betel quid cessation (e.g., replacement therapy). Also provided herein are methods of using the compositions in reducing the risk of developing or reducing the progression of a disease (e.g., cancer, oral disease, neurological disease, or painful condition). Compositions of the present invention may be administered to a subject with an addiction, e.g., a betel quid addiction, areca nut addiction, and/or nicotine addiction.
