Method for cooling and/or heating media, preferably in a motor vehicle, and a sorptive heat and cold storage system
A method and device for cooling and/or heating media, preferably in a motor vehicle, the method in which at least one first heat source is cooled and at least one second heat sink is heated by a thermal management system. In a method in which the heating or cooling can occur on demand, heat and/or cold are shifted by the thermal management system in space and time to the heat sink and/or heat source, which is characterized by need.

A system for producing a heat source for heating or electricity, using medium/low-temperature waste heat includes: an absorption-type heat pump (100) supplied with a driving heat source and heat source water to heat a low-temperature heat medium; a regenerator heat exchange unit (210) for supplying a regenerator (110) with a driving heat source using waste heat; an evaporator heat exchange unit (220) for supplying an evaporator with heat source water; a heat medium circulation line (310) for circulating a heat medium; a generation unit (400) branching off from the heat medium circulation line (310) and producing electricity; a heat production unit (500) branching off from the heat medium circulation line (310) and supplying a heat-demanding place with a heat source for heating; and a switching valve unit (600) for controlling the flow of heat medium supplied the generation unit (400) or the heat production unit (500).
Transport refrigeration system with engine exhaust cooling
A heat exchanger includes an inner tube extending along a central axis, an array of a plurality of heat transfer members mounted to the inner tube, and a plurality of outer tubes disposed radially outward of and in parallel relationship to the inner tube, the inner and outer tubes extending longitudinally to pass through the array of heat transfer members. The heat exchanger is particularly suited for use as an engine exhaust cooler in connection with a transport refrigeration unit, wherein the inner tube defines an internal flow passage through which engine exhaust gas passes, each outer tube defines an internal flow passage through which refrigerant passes, and the plurality of flow passages between adjacent heat transfer members defines an air flow passage. In an embodiment, the heat transfer members may be annular disks having an internal chamber filled with air or other heat transfer working fluid.
Absorption refrigeration and air conditioning devices
An absorption refrigeration and air conditioning device capable of controlling temperature and/or the humidity of enclosed spaces particularly useful in maritime applications and improving fuel economy of internal combustion engines is provided.
Adsorption cooling systems and methods
Technologies are described herein for cooling systems. In some aspects, a cooling system is configured to enter into a storage configuration or a winterization configuration. In the winterization configuration, refrigerant used in the cooling system is stored in an adsorbent in an adsorbent chamber.
Combined heat and power heat pump
A method of operating a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes operating a device to produce at least one of electricity and rejected heat and at least one of (1) powering a component of the HVAC system using the electricity produced by the electricity generating device and (2) heating the refrigerant of the HVAC system using at least a portion of the rejected heat.

Systems and methods associated with bottoming cycle power systems for generating power, capturing carbon dioxide and producing products
A method of generating electric power includes expanding a flow of exhaust gas from a combustion process as the exhaust gas passes through a turbo-expander disposed on a turbo-crankshaft. The flow of exhaust gas from the turbo-expander is routed through an absorber section of an open cycle absorption chiller system. Water from the exhaust gas is absorbed via a first refrigerant solution disposed in the absorber section as the exhaust gas passes through the first refrigerant solution and out of the absorber section. The flow of exhaust gas from the absorber section is compressed as the exhaust gas passes through a turbo-compressor disposed on the turbo-crankshaft. Electrical power is generated from a bottoming cycle generator disposed on the turbo-crankshaft.
