A change system for changing an orifice plate that is registered with an orifice ring is provided. The orifice plate change system includes a guide arrangement, a plurality of orifice plates, and an actuator. The guide arrangement has a charging plate region and an operating plate region. Each orifice plate is configured to be slidably carried by the guide arrangement between the charging plate region and the operating plate region in which the orifice thereof is registered with the orifice ring orifice. A first orifice plate has a first orifice and a second orifice plate has a second orifice that is different than the first orifice such that a stream of molten glass that passes through the second is different than a stream of molten glass passing through the first orifice. The actuator translates the orifice plates from the charging plate region to the operating plate region.

A method of separating an edge portion from a glass substrate includes applying a scoring tool of a scoring apparatus to a glass substrate to cause the scoring tool to score the glass substrate along a score line as the glass substrate moves relative to the scoring apparatus and applying a breaker bar of a breaker apparatus to the glass substrate as the glass substrate moves relative to the breaker bar to separate an edge portion from the glass substrate along the score line.

The raw material batch is melted such that a bubble enlarging temperature of the obtained glass is lower than a maximum temperature of the fining process.

The invention refers to a glass forming machine which includes a blank station for forming a parison (14) from a gob of molten glass (9) and a blow station for forming the parison (14) into a container (26) and an invert mechanism (16) which can move a neck ring (5) from the blank station to the blow station by a rotary motion and which further includes a swab robot and a control device for the swab robot, wherein the control device is set up so that the swab robot can swab and thus swab the neck ring (5) when the neck ring (5) is in an intermediate position between the blank station and the blow station. Defects in the production of bottles can thus be avoided.

A method for processing a transparent workpiece includes forming a contour of defect in the transparent workpiece and separating the transparent workpiece along the contour using an infrared laser beam. During separation, the method also includes detecting a position and propagation direction of a crack tip relative to a reference location and propagation direction of an infrared beam spot, determining a detected distance and angular offset between the crack tip and the reference location of the infrared beam spot, comparing the detected distance to a preset distance, comparing the detected angular offset to a preset angular offset, and modifying at least one of a power of the infrared laser beam or a speed of relative translation between the infrared laser beam and the transparent workpiece in response to a difference between the detected distance and the preset distance and between the detected angular offset and the preset angular offset.

ROTARY TRANSITION SECTION AND TEMPERING AND FORMING APPARATUS FOR FORMING BENT GLASS

The present disclosure relates to a rotary transition section and a tempering and forming apparatus for forming bent glass. The rotary transition section includes a main rack and an auxiliary rack. A plurality of flexible shaft rollers for forming glass are arranged at intervals on the auxiliary rack along the glass conveying direction. An end of the auxiliary rack that is closer to a heating furnace is rotatably connected to the main rack. An end of the auxiliary rack that is away from the heating furnace is connected to a traction mechanism arranged on the main rack. In the tempering and forming apparatus employing the rotary transition section, a forming and tempering section has a lifting function to achieve abutment against a roller surface after the rotation of the transition section, which in turn solves the technical problem that the edge of the glass is difficult to form.
