A process for the production of a bacterially enriched animal feed composition
The present invention relates to a process for the production of a bacterially enriched animal feed composition. The process comprises the steps of a) providing a proteinaceous feed material to be fermented; b) providing an inoculum comprising bacteria, and wherein the concentration of bacteria in the inoculum of step b) is sufficient to outgrow any bacteria, yeast or moulds present in the proteinaceous feed material of step a); c) combining the materials of steps a) and b) and fermenting the proteinaceous feed material of step a) using the inoculums of step b), thereby providing a fermented proteinaceous feed material; and d) adding methanotrophic bacteria to the fermented proteinaceous feed material to provide a bacterially enriched animal feed composition.
Storage stable mixtures
The present invention relates to improved formulations of propandiol mononitrate and derivatives thereof as well as to the production of such formulations.
Compressed tablets
The present invention relates to compressed tablets comprising 3-nitrooxypropanol or derivatives thereof and a gluten as well as to the production of such tablets.
DICARBOXYLIC ACID DIESTERS
Dicarboxylic diesters are disclosed having the formula (I):
##STR00001##
wherein n is 3, and X is a C.sub.2 alkylene or a C.sub.2 alkenylene group. Such dicarboxylic diesters are useful for inhibiting the methane production in ruminants.
ENSURING VERACITY OF INPUT CORPUS FOR EFFECTIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS: VERACITY INDEX
Artificially Intelligent systems are able to draw inferences and conclusions by analyzing information in natural language and then using such information to prove or disprove hypotheses. The quality of such inferences is directly dependent on the accuracy of the input data corpus. Given the proliferation of the Internet as well as the dubious data sources on social media, it is important to determine the truthfulness of the input information. Combining concepts of library classification, crowd-sourced curation and Google Scholar search, we propose the concept of the Veracity Index and an algorithm to calculate it. This index can be used in Artificial Systems to determine the confidence measurement of the inferences.
ANTIBIOTIC-FREE ANTIMICROBIAL FEED ADDITIVES AND ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITIONS
The invention relates to the use of an antibiotic-free antimicrobial feed additive in a method of improving the health of animals and/or reducing methane production of animals. The invention also provides an antimicrobial composition which is used at a low concentration, an antimicrobial composition which has a low ratio of iodide ions to hydrogen peroxide, and uses of these compositions as antimicrobial agents. The invention also provides the use of an antimicrobial composition in combination with an antibiotic as an antimicrobial agent.
INCLUSION OF SEAWEED IN RUMINANT FEEDSTOCK FOR REDUCING METHANE PRODUCTION AND INCREASING CONSUMER PRODUCT QUALITY
A feed additive is provided for adding to a ruminant feedstock, the feed additive comprising a dried, powdered mixture of at least two macroalgae selected from the group consisting of ocean farm-grown Egregia menziesii, Neoagarum fimbriatum, Saccharina latissimi, Alaria marginate, Macrocystis pyrifera, Hedophyllum sessile, Callophyllis species, Opuntiella californica, Sarcodiotheca gaudichaudii, and Mazzaella splendins. A method of manufacturing the feed additive is also provided as is use of the feed additive.
METHODS FOR THE REDUCTION OF METHANE PRODUCTION IN RUMINANTS
The present disclosure provides methods for reducing methane emissions from a ruminant comprising administering to the ruminant a composition comprising a fungal strain, wherein the fungal strain comprises a vanadium-dependent haloperoxidase (VHPO) such as Curvularia sp. strain 4388 (NMI Accession No. V22/011149). The disclosure also provides a cell or a biologically pure culture of Curvularia sp. strain 4388 (NMI Accession No. V22/011149) or a mutant thereof having all identifying characteristics of the strain.
Animal feed supplement
An animal feed supplement and an animal feed composition including said animal feed supplement, and methods of making and using said animal feed supplement and animal feed composition. The animal feed supplement includes at least one organosulfur compound and at least one phenolic compound.
Use of a feed composition for reducing methane emission in ruminants, and/or to improve ruminant performance
The present invention relates to the field of reduction of methane emission in ruminants. Particularly, it relates to the use of a feed composition or a feed additive comprising at least one antibiotic and at least one organic molecule substituted at any position with at least one nitrooxy group for reducing the production of methane emanating from the digestive activities of ruminants, and/or to improve the ruminant performance.
