A CARPET, A CARPET PILE YARN, AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A carpet comprising a backing and pile comprising looped or cut tufts of pile yarn attached to and extending from the backing. The pile yarn comprises un-twisted, entangled filaments. The filaments are self-crimped and optionally textured multi-component filaments. A first component of the multi-component filament comprises a first thermoplastic polymer and a second component of the multi-component filaments comprises a second thermoplastic polymer. The first and the second thermoplastic polymer have different yield behavior, whereby the multi-component filaments are self-crimping.
HIGH FLOW PROPYLENE-BASED INTERPOLYMER COMPOSITIONS
A composition comprising the following components: a) at least one propylene/ethylene interpolymer or at least one propylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer, each interpolymer comprising the following properties: i) a melting point, Tm, from 60° C. to 85° C., ii) a viscosity (177° C.) from 3,000 cP to 30,000 cP; b) at least one wax; c) at least one oil; and wherein the composition has a weight ratio component b to component c from 0.30 to 4.0.
Flash spinning process
A process for the preparation of plexifilamentary film-fibril strands of polymer. The process includes the steps of generating a spin fluid containing (a) 5 to 30 wt. % containing one or more polymer types, (b) a primary spin agent selected from the group consisting of dichloromethane, cis-1,2-dichloroethylene and trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, and (c) a co-spin agent comprising 1H,6H-perfluorohexane or 1H-perfluorohexane or 1H-perfluoroheptane. The spin fluid is flash-spun at a pressure that is greater than the autogenous pressure of the spin fluid into a region of lower pressure to form plexifilamentary film-fibril strands of the polymer. The co-spin agent is present in the spin fluid in an amount sufficient to form an azeotrope-like composition with the primary spin agent in the presence of the one or more polymer types. The polymer may be selected from the group consisting of high density polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene-1, polymethylpentene, polyvinylidene fluoride, poly (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene), and blends of the foregoing.
HOT MELT FILM CONTAINING BIOMASS-BASED THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE RESIN
The present invention relates to a hot melt film containing a biomass-based thermoplastic polyurethane resin, and is not only environmentally friendly to the human body as it contains a biomass-based thermoplastic polyurethane resin prepared by reacting a biomass-derived polyol with a diol-based chain extender and diisocyanate in a range of 20-70% by weight, accordingly, by containing hydrophobic nano-silica, it is possible to secure properties such as excellent high heat resistance, elasticity, uniform adhesion strength, and excellent durability at the petroleum-based level, and also provides a hot melt film containing a biomass-based thermoplastic polyurethane resin that can prevent overflow during the bonding process and improve the weight and texture of the product.
Carbon fiber production method
A carbon fiber production method includes a carbon fiber production step including an oxidation step and a carbonization step; and an exhaust gas processing step including a heat exchange step; an external air mixing step; and a mixed external air supplying step in which the mixed external air is supplied to at least one step that uses heated gas in the steps in the carbon fiber production step; and among the exhaust gases, a high heating value exhaust gas having a heating value of 250 kcal/Nm.sup.3 or higher is supplied to an inlet side of an exhaust gas combustion apparatus and a low heating value exhaust gas having a heating value lower than 150 kcal/Nm.sup.3 is supplied to an outlet side of the exhaust gas combustion apparatus, respectively.
CARPETS HAVING AN IMPROVED DELAMINATION STRENGTH AND FLUID BARRIER PROPERTIES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
A moisture resistant carpet exhibiting exceptional delamination strength and methods of making same are disclosed.
RECYCLED RUBBER BACKED CUSHIONED VINYL
A laminated surface covering including a facing material made of vinyl and a backing material comprising a rubber component. The rubber component comprising at least a matrix of bonded rubber granules. A bonding material disposed between the facing material and the backing material. The facing material configured to melt at a temperature between 165° F. and 248° F. infiltrating the backing material thereby essentially encasing the rubber granules of the matrix and providing fire retardation and smoke suppression qualities.
Method for Manufacturing Metal Staple Fibers and Apparatus for Manufacturing Metal Staple Fibers
Problem: To provide a method for manufacturing metal staple fibers that allows for the efficient manufacture of uniform metal staple fibers. Solution: A method for manufacturing metal staple fibers including a cutting step of cutting a metal fiber bundle coated with a fluorine-based polymer into a staple fiber bundle.
FOOTWEAR ARTICLE HAVING CONCEALING LAYER WITH STRUCTURAL COLOR
In example aspects, materials with different colors and/or one or more different characteristics are used for footwear manufacturing. In some aspects, the colors and/or the one or more characteristics of the materials may be obscured with a concealing layer. In other aspects, the concealing layer may include a structural-color element.
POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITION FOR CARPET BACKING
A filled polyolefin composition made from or containing butene-1 copolymers having high melt flow and an inorganic filler. The compositions are useful for carpet backing.
