Aerodynamic Deployable Underbody Strakes
An aerodynamics control system for a vehicle may include an underbody shield disposed at an underside of the vehicle, a strake assembly, and an actuator. The strake assembly may include one or more deployable strakes operably coupled to the underbody shield and having a deployed state in which the one or more deployable strakes extend away from the underbody shield to increase drag and reduce lift of the vehicle. The strake assembly may also have a retracted state in which the one or more deployable strakes do not extend away from the underbody shield. The actuator may be operable by a driver of the vehicle while driving to transition the strake assembly from the retracted state to the deployed state.
AIR GUIDING ELEMENT
An air guiding element, in particular a cooling air louver for an air inlet of a motor vehicle body, with a flat main body and with a bearing region. The air guiding element is arranged such that it can be pivoted by way of its bearing region about a pivot axis. The flat main body is formed from two shells, and with a carrier element which is arranged between the shells. The carrier element is molded between the two shells by an injection molding method such that the two shells are connected to one another in this way.
Front vehicle-body structure of vehicle
A front vehicle-body structure flows air from the vehicle lower side to its upper side. After hitting a front bumper face, the air is separated and flows around and along a top face of an exterior member, ensuring aerodynamic performance. Embodiments include exterior members covering the upper side of an engine room, and a front grille disposed on a lower side relative to a front end portion of the exterior member. A rectification member extends the width of the exterior member in the vehicle width direction on the lower side of the exterior member front end portion. The rectification member includes a front piece portion extending toward the vehicle up-down-direction lower side from the exterior member to an upper end portion of the front grille, and a lower piece portion extending toward the vehicle rear side from an upper end of the front piece portion.
Rear-end air guide device
A rear-end air guide device for a motor vehicle includes a rear spoiler having a spoiler surface and a rear wing arranged in a vehicle vertical direction above the rear spoiler. The spoiler surface faces toward the rear wing, and the spoiler surface facing toward the rear wing is adjustable in a vehicle longitudinal direction.
DOWNFORCE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A downforce system for a vehicle includes: a restrictor configured to restrict a flow of air into a region that is defined at least in part by the restrictor and a ground surface, a rim disposed on the restrictor and configured to form at least a partial seal with the ground surface; a dedicated pressure source disposed outside the restrictor and connected to the restrictor via an air flow path, the pressure source being configured to generate a pressure differential across the restrictor; and a dust and debris removal system configured to prevent dust and debris from exiting the downforce system via the air flow path. By generating a pressure differential across the restrictor, a downforce which acts on the vehicle may be generated. The downforce may result in an improved grip or traction of the vehicle, which may improve handling and safety of the vehicle.
AIR GUIDE DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
An air guide device for a motor vehicle having an air guide element and a movement mechanism. The air guide element forming a rear side part of a body of the motor vehicle so as to be movable relative to the remaining body. The air guide element is movable between an inoperative position and at least one operating end position. The air guide element, in its inoperative position, is flush with the remaining body. The rear side part has a flow guide surface which faces an environment of the motor vehicle and along which air flows. The air guide element has a surface which is at least part of the flow guide surface. The air guide element, in its operating end position, is configured to extend the flow guide surface along a body longitudinal axis (X) of the body.
REAR SPOILER SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A rear spoiler system includes a roof portion forming an upper frame of a vehicle body, a rear spoiler positioned at the rear of the vehicle body, connected to the roof portion and including an opening through which air passes, a variable shutter positioned at the rear spoiler to adjust the opening amount and opening position of the opening, and an actuator operating the variable shutter.
Active front deflector
An active front deflector assembly having a deflector panel, actuator, and linkage assemblies each with a predetermined ratio of the links to each other for motion of the deflector panel. The assembly deploys and retracts based on vehicle requirements, and, when deployed, redirects the air flow in the front of the vehicle to improve the vehicle aerodynamics for either fuel economy or performance characteristics. Additionally, it allows for the deflector panel to retract so the vehicle meets ground clearances, etc. The deflector panel is also both rigid and semi-rigid to absorb impact energy. The drive shaft transmits the drive from the actuator coupled to one linkage assembly to the other linkage assembly for moving the deflector panel between the deployed/retracted positions. The actuator is clutched to prevent damage to the system.
MOTOR VEHICLE BODY WITH AN AIR-GUIDING DEVICE AND WITH A TRAILER COUPLING MOUNTING DEVICE
A motor vehicle body with an air-guiding device and with a trailer coupling mounting device. The air-guiding device is formed in a rear-end region of the motor vehicle body. The trailer coupling mounting device is adjustable into a rest position and into an active position. The trailer coupling mounting device, in at least the rest position, is at least partially covered with respect to surroundings by the air-guiding device, which is settable into a first operating position and a second operating position. For positioning the trailer coupling mounting device into its active position, the air-guiding device is settable into its second operating position and, after or together with the positioning of the air-guiding device into its second operating position, the trailer coupling mounting device is configured to be movable along a body vertical axis (Z) of the motor vehicle body.
MOTOR VEHICLE BODY WITH AN AIR-GUIDING DEVICE AND A TRAILER COUPLING MOUNTING DEVICE
A motor vehicle body includes an air-guiding device and a trailer coupling mounting device. The air-guiding device is formed in a rear-end region of the motor vehicle body, and the trailer coupling mounting device is adjustable into a rest position and into an active position. The trailer coupling mounting device, in at least the rest position, is at least partially covered by the air-guiding device, which is settable into a first operating position and a second operating position. For positioning of the trailer coupling mounting device into its active position, the trailer coupling mounting device is movable along a body longitudinal axis of the motor vehicle body, and, before or together with the positioning of the trailer coupling mounting device into its active position, the air-guiding device is settable into an intermediate position which has a pivot angle greater than a pivot angle of the second operating position.
