Rear spoiler device for a motor vehicle
A rear spoiler device for a motor vehicle contains an upper shell which has an air-guiding outer wall. The upper shell extends longitudinally from a leading edge to a trailing edge and has a central main part and two side parts. The side parts are oriented so as to be inclined relative to the main part and are integrally connected to the main part on a longitudinally extending folded edge. A carrier element is provided which is fastenable to the motor vehicle and which has at least one retaining tab for fastening the upper shell. It is provided that a fastening tab which protrudes in the direction of the retaining tab of the carrier element and which extends along the folded edge is arranged on the inner face of the upper shell remote from the air-guiding outer wall.
Airflow adjusting apparatus
An airflow adjusting apparatus includes a downward airflow generator, a rearward airflow generator, and a controller. The downward airflow generator is configured to generate an airflow, and is disposed at a front edge of a movable body to generate the airflow traveling in downward direction. The rearward airflow generator is configured to generate an airflow, and is disposed at a lower surface of the movable body to generate the airflow traveling in a rearward direction. The controller is configured to perform switching between a lifting-force increase control and a lifting-force suppression control in accordance with a state of the movable body to execute one of the controls. The lifting-force increase control is a control of activating the downward airflow generator and deactivating the rearward airflow generator. The lifting-force suppression control is a control of deactivating the downward airflow generator and activating the rearward airflow generator.
Vehicle aerodynamic cover
A vehicle aerodynamic cover includes an upper body portion, a lower body portion and a boundary. The upper body portion defines a top edge. The lower body portion extends downwardly from the upper body portion and defines a bottom edge. The upper body portion is inclined in an inboard direction relative to the lower body portion when the aerodynamic cover is in an installed state. The boundary connects the upper and lower body portions.
RETRACTABLE UNDER CHASSIS FAIRING
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a retractable under chassis fairing. In certain embodiments, the under chassis fairing includes a fairing body and at least one coupling. The fairing body includes a floor, front wall, and left and right sidewalls. The front wall extends from a front edge of the fairing body to the floor toward a back edge of the fairing body and is angled relative to the floor. The at coupling is configured to hang the fairing body from a chassis such that an upper edge of the left and right sidewalls is positioned at the same height as or higher than a lower edge of the vehicle. The coupling is configured to allow movement of the fairing body from a lowered position vertically toward the chassis upon contact with a road obstacle. The under chassis fairing improves aerodynamic performance while moving upon contact with road obstacles.
Deployable Active D-Pillar Spoiler for Vehicles
A system for deploying D-pillar spoilers on a vehicle is described. The system includes a deployment control system including controller logic having at least one processor and a memory storing instructions for implementing deployment and retraction of D-pillar spoilers on a vehicle. The system also includes at least one vehicle sensor in communication with the deployment control system. The system further includes a motor in communication with the deployment control system. At least one D-pillar spoiler is connected to the motor through a linkage, where the motor is configured to rotate the linkage. The at least one D-pillar spoiler is folded along an underside of a rear upper spoiler of the vehicle in a retracted position and is rotated to a position extending between the rear upper spoiler of the vehicle and a D pillar of the vehicle in a deployed position.
DRAG REDUCTION SPOILER
A drag reduction spoiler for a vehicle includes a fixed portion configured for attachment to the vehicle and an extendable top portion configured for movement relative to the fixed portion, the extendable top portion includes a first top portion and a second top portion. The drag reduction spoiler further includes first and second side spoiler portions configured for movement relative to the vehicle, and at least one actuator configured to deploy the extendable top portion, the at least one actuator being secured to the first top portion. The first top portion includes a first engagement element and the second top portion includes a second engagement element, the first engagement element being configured to engage the second engagement element when the first top portion is deployed by the at least one actuator such that the first top portion draws the second top portion outwardly as the first top portion is deployed.
IMPROVED DRAG REDUCING DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A drag reducing device for a motor vehicle having a vehicle body and at least one substantially semi-circular wheel-well for receiving a wheel capable of vertical and rotational movements with regards to the vehicle body, the vehicle comprising unsprung masses associated with the at least one wheel; wherein the drag reducing device comprises a wheel-well cover configured to cover at least a portion of the wheel and of the wheel-well, a pivotal linkage pivotally connecting the wheel-well cover to the vehicle body, and a sliding linkage slidingly connecting the wheel-well cover to an element of the unsprung masses with one degree of freedom oriented in the vertical movement of the at least one wheel.
VEHICLE TAILGATE
To improve the appearance of a tailgate provided with a rear spoiler, a tailgate of a vehicle includes a tailgate main body having a rear window opening a rear spoiler extending rearward from a part of the tailgate main body above the rear window opening a rear window panel that is mounted on an outer peripheral portion of the rear window opening of an outer surface of the tailgate main body and closes the rear window opening and a plate-shaped shield member mounted on a lower surface of the rear spoiler so as to shield a space formed between the lower surface of the rear spoiler and an upper end portion of the rear window panel.
