Hydrous silica for rubber reinforcing fillers and rubber composition containing hydrous silica
The present invention relates to a hydrous silica for rubber reinforcing fillers having CTAB specific surface area in the range of 220 to 350 m.sup.2/g and a pore volume over the range of pore radius 1.9 to 100 nm measured by mercury press-in method in the range of 1.7 to 2.0 cm.sup.3/g, wherein a volume average particle diameter D50 in a volume particle size distribution measured by laser diffraction method for the slurry obtained by dispersing 50 ml of a hydrous silica slurry adjusted to 4 mass % with an ultrasonic homogenizer at an output of 140 W for 10 minutes is in the range of 5.0 to 12.0 μm, and a cumulative value of hydrous silica particles over the range of 4.0 to 35.0 μm in the volume particle size distribution is 80% or more. The present invention also relates to a rubber composition containing the above-mentioned hydrous silica and a rubber component containing a natural rubber. The present invention provides a hydrous silica which has equivalent or excellent reinforcing property (abrasion resistance, tensile strength) and which allows to greatly reduce the rolling resistance when it is blended into a rubber based on the natural rubber for TBRs, which is often used under a heavy load, compared with conventional hydrous silicas, and provides the rubber composition containing the hydrous silica.
RUBBER COMPOSITION AND A TIRE
In a first aspect, the present invention is directed to a rubber composition comprising 70 phr to 90 phr of styrene butadiene rubber, wherein said styrene butadiene rubber comprises a first styrene butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature within a range of −49° C. to −15° C. and a second styrene butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature within a range of −50° C. to −89° C. Furthermore, the rubber composition comprises from 10 phr to 30 phr of one or more of natural rubber and synthetic polyisoprene rubber, 100 phr to 200 phr of silica, and at least 25 phr of at least one terpene resin having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of at most 1000 g/mol. Moreover, the invention is directed to a tire comprising such a rubber composition, in particular in the tread of the tire.
Vehicle wheel disc, vehicle wheel including such a wheel disc and method for producing such a wheel disc and vehicle wheel
A wheel disc includes a wheel mounting portion defining a wheel axis, a plurality of spokes radially extending from the wheel mounting portion, and a rim junction on at least one spoke of the plurality of spokes. The rim junction is at an end of the at least one spoke opposite the wheel mounting portion. A first portion of the rim junction extends in an axial direction. Second and third portions of the rim junction extend in a circumferential direction. The axial direction is parallel to the wheel axis and the circumferential direction is in a plane perpendicular to the wheel axis.
Modified conjugated diene rubber
A modified conjugated diene rubber having a modifying structure derived from a siloxane compound at at least one terminal of a polymer chain containing conjugated diene monomer unit and a monomer unit of a vinyl compound having a functional group interactive with silica.
Pneumatic tire with specified rim protector
A tire has a rim protector has a first protruding edge which extends in the tire circumferential direction, a second protruding edge which extends in the tire circumferential direction, a plurality of recesses, and a plurality of ridges. The plurality of ridges respectively connect the first protruding edge and the second protruding edge. Each of the plurality of ridges includes a first ridge that extends from the first protruding edge so as to be directed in a first direction in the tire circumferential direction to reach the second protruding edge, and a second ridge that extends from the second protruding edge so as to be directed in the first direction to reach the first protruding edge. The first ridges and the second ridges are arranged in alternating fashion along the tire circumferential direction.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MOTOR VEHICLE RIM MADE OF ALUMINIUM OR ALUMINIUM ALLOY FOR A WHEEL OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND A CORRESPONDING DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A MOTOR VEHICLE RIM
A method for producing an automobile rim from aluminum or an aluminum alloy for a wheel of a motor vehicle. The automobile rim has a rim well delimited on opposite sides by an outer flange and an inner flange, a hub having a center recess and a bolt hole circle, and a rim center connecting the rim well and the hub to one another. The automobile rim is produced integrally and continuously in a casting mold by die casting of a casting material. After the introduction of the casting material into the casting mold, a volume of the casting mold is reduced for post-compaction of the casting material. The invention furthermore relates to a device for producing an automobile rim.
TIRE
An object of the invention is to provide a tire having little change in riding comfort performance and wet performance before and after wear of the tread part and in which riding comfort performance and wet performance as when the tire is newly used are maintained. The fire comprises a tread being composed of a rubber layer in which there is little change in hardness after thermal deterioration and having a groove shape such that a sea ratio after wear with respect to a sea ratio as when the tire is newly used is within a predetermined range.
TIRE
An object of the invention is to provide a tire having good steering stability performance after wear and in which a decrease in wet performance after wear is suppressed. The tire comprises a tread being composed of a rubber layer in which change in hardness after thermal deterioration is within a predetermined range and having a groove shape such that a sea ratio after wear with respect to a sea ratio as when the tire is newly used.

Polar silane linkers are provided that attach to resins to form silane-functionalized resins. The functionalized resins can be bound to hydroxyl groups on the surface of silica particles to improve the dispersibility of the silica particles in rubber mixtures. Further disclosed are synthetic routes to provide the silane-functionalized resins, as well as various uses and end products that benefit from the unexpected properties of the silane-functionalized resins. Silane-functionalized resins impart remarkable properties on various rubber compositions, such as tires, belts, hoses, brakes, and the like. Automobile tires incorporating the silane-functionalized resins are shown to possess excellent results in balancing the properties of rolling resistance, tire wear, and wet braking performance.
