Processes for recycling polystyrene waste and/or polystyrene copolymer waste
11407877 · 2022-08-09 · ·

There are provided processes for recycling waste such as polystyrene thermoplastic polymer waste and/or polystyrene thermoplastic copolymer waste as well as recycled polystyrene thermoplastic polymer and/or recycled thermoplastic copolymer that may, for example, be obtained from such processes. The processes can comprise dissolving the waste in cymene, xylene or ethylbenzene or a suitable solvent, to obtain a mixture followed by heating the mixture under acidic conditions and then optionally neutral conditions in the presence of a reducing agent then cooling to obtain a supernatant comprising polystyrene thermoplastic polymer and/or polystyrene thermoplastic copolymer and a solid waste residue. The supernatant can optionally be treated with a filtration aid, then the supernatant can be contacted with a hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent under conditions to obtain precipitated polystyrene thermoplastic polymer and/or precipitated polystyrene thermoplastic copolymer which can be washed with additional hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent, and optionally dried and formed into polystyrene thermoplastic polymer pellets and/or polystyrene thermoplastic copolymer pellets.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY-SPECIFIC WASTE AIR SORTER HAVING IMPURITY SEPARATION FUNCTION, USING VORTEX
20220080463 · 2022-03-17 · ·

The present invention relates to a waste sorter using specific gravity and, more specifically, to a specific gravity-specific waste air sorter having an impurity separation function, using a vortex for sorting waste into high-specific gravity materials (PET bottles, glass bottles, cans, metals and the like), low-specific gravity materials (vinyl, paper and the like), and impurities (sand, soil, dust, glass dust and the like) when the impurities are shaken off and removed by means of the hitting of a rotating drum and vanes while the waste fed therein is turned over by a vortex. The present invention includes a main drum having radial vanes, an upper auxiliary drum, and a lower auxiliary drum, wherein the main drum is provided at one side of an input hole, the upper auxiliary drum is provided at the other side of the input hole, and the lower auxiliary drum is provided below the upper auxiliary drum, the main drum and the lower auxiliary drum rotate in the same direction, whereas the upper auxiliary drum rotates in the opposite direction, a vortex is formed between the main drum, the upper auxiliary drum, and the lower auxiliary drum in a structure of maximizing the vortex at different rotational speeds, and a screen conveyor formed in a mesh shape is obliquely provided below the input hole.

Granulator mill

Granulator mill granule chamber including at least one non-rotatable blade, rotatable rotor arranged inside the granule chamber, the rotor a number of blades which are arranged for cooperation with the non-rotatable blade, a infeed hopper for feeding waste into the granule chamber, a grid arranged in the granule chamber, where through granulated waste is allowed to pass to an outfeed hopper. A scraping device is provided in a space located axially in between a housing and the rotatable rotor and the scraping device is attached to the housing.

Process, apparatus, and system for recovering materials from batteries

The invention relates to a mechanochemical process for decontaminating and/or for eliminating problematic, synthetic, biogenic and biological materials A; for breaking down phosphates B; for immobilising metals and the compounds C thereof; for separating carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide D into elements; and for recovering valuable products E. The process comprises: —providing a material F to be milled containing —at least one material A, B, C and/or D and —at least one type of carbon or carbon-yielding material G, or alternatively providing the components of F and G separately from one another; —filling the material F to be milled into a mechanical mill (1), or alternatively —filling the components of the material F to be milled into a mechanical mill (1) and —milling by means of milling elements (1.2) moved by agitation means (1.4) or by means of rollers (1.4.6); after which —the resulting product I is separated from the milling elements (1.2) or the rollers (1.4.6) and is discharged from the milling chamber (1.1) and worked up. The invention also relates to the use of the products I as valuable materials E, the use of a self-cooling electric motor (4) for driving a mechanochemical mill (1), and mechanochemical mills (1) having new agitation means (1.4).

METHOD AND REPROCESSING INSTALLATION FOR REPROCESSING FILM WASTE MATERIAL
20220105662 · 2022-04-07 ·

In a method for reprocessing film waste material, the film waste material is comminuted into recycling material by means of a comminuting device. The recycling material is fed by means of a feeding device in a multi-shaft screw machine. In the multi-shaft screw machine, the recycling material is plasticized into a material melt and processed into raw material. The raw material may again be fed to a production installation for the production of films.
