MODIFIED RELEASE ORALLY ADMINISTERED AMINO ACID FORMULATIONS
Methods and formulations of modified release amino acids are provided for the treatment or management of diseases defined by impaired amino acid metabolism, with improved pharmacokinetics, metabolism and utilization.
Sprinkle Composition of Cinacalcet
The present invention relates to a sprinkle composition of cinacalcet which provides a dissolution profile which is comparable to the currently marketed tablet dosage form.
3D expanding geometry
This invention relates to bubble generation, in particular to microbubble generation in a microfluidic device, which bubbles may be useful as contrasting agents or drug delivery vehicles. The invention further relates to apparatuses, systems and methods for manufacturing said microbubbles, microbubbles produced by such methods and to their uses, e.g. in medical, diagnostic and other such applications. The microbubbles are preferentially formed using a microspray regime.
PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention provides an oral pharmaceutical composition and a usage thereof, comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable acidic medicinal auxiliary material whose surface is modified and dabigatran etexilate or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or aquo-complexes thereof. The present invention further provides a surface modification method for a medicinal auxiliary material.
Tamper resistant dosage form comprising an adsorbent and an adverse agent
Pharmaceutical compositions and dosage forms comprising an adsorbent, and an adverse agent, such as an opioid antagonist. In one embodiment, at least a portion of the adverse agent is on the surface or within the micropore structure of an adsorbent material. The pharmaceutical compositions and dosage forms comprising the adsorbent and the adverse agent are useful for preventing or discouraging tampering, abuse, misuse or diversion of a dosage form containing an active pharmaceutical agent, such as an opioid. The present invention also relates to methods for treating a patient with such a dosage form, as well as kits containing such a dosage form with instructions for using the dosage form to treat a patient. The present invention further relates to process for preparing such pharmaceutical compositions and dosage forms.
FORMULATIONS FOR ORAL DELIVERY OF ADSORBENTS IN THE GUT
The invention relates to a formulation for the delayed and controlled delivery of an adsorbent into the lower intestine of mammals. The formulation includes a carrageenan and an adsorbent, such as activated charcoal. The invention further relates to uses of this formulation, in particular to pharmaceutical uses. In one embodiment, the formulation is used to eliminate or reduce the side effects in the intestine, in particular in the colon, of pharmaceutical agents that are administered as a treatment for a disorder, but that have side effects when they reach the late ileum, the caecum or the colon.
Method for delivering a peptide to a subject at a modulated rate via microcapsules of lactic-co-glycolic copolymer containing said peptide
Micro-capsules for the slow release of drugs, consisting of a lactic-co-glycolic copolymer to which a plasticizer has been incorporated and which contain a drug of pharmaceutical interested within them.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVE GI TRACT DELIVERY
A composition-of-matter is provided. The present composition includes dietary supplements capable of reducing or reversing the negative effects of alcohol on motor and cognition, dietary supplements having anti-gastroparesis, antiemetic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities and/or dietary supplements capable of increasing alcohol catabolism and decreasing the level of toxic products of alcohol catabolism.
ORAL PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION IN THE FORM OF AN AQUEOUS SUSPENSION OF MICROCAPSULES FOR THE MODIFIED RELEASE OF ACTIVE PRINCIPLE(S).
The invention relates to liquid pharmaceutical formulations for oral administration with the modified release of active principle(s), excluding amoxicillin, said formulations consisting of suspensions of coated particles of active principles (microcapsules). According to the invention, the microcapsules constituting the disperse phase of the suspension are designed to allow the modified release of the active principle(s) according to a profile that does not change during the storage of the liquid suspension. To do this the inventors propose the selection of a specific coating composition for the microcapsules which consists of at least four components that allow these microcapsules to be stored in water without modifying their properties of modified release of the active principle, this liquid phase furthermore being saturated with active principle(s).
Microcrystalline Diketopiperazine Compositions and Methods
Disclosed herein are DKP microcrystals made by an improved method where they do not irreversibly self-assemble into microparticles. The microcrystals can be dispersed by atomization and re-formed by spray drying into particles having spherical shell morphology. Active agents and excipients can be incorporated into the particles by spray drying a solution containing the components to be incorporated into microcrystalline diketopiperazine particles. In particular, the microcrystalline particle compositions are suitable for pulmonary drug delivery of one or more peptides, proteins, nucleic acids and/or small organic molecules.
