Portable Umbrella, Adaptor, and Associated Method
An umbrella (10) comprising a handle (16) and a stand (18). The stand (18) is connected to and telescopically stowable in the handle (16). A tethering element (26) is provided for a user to step upon.
Umbrella with crossbeams and telescoping poles
An umbrella has a vertical pole extending downward from the fabric region, but it also has horizontal poles extending outwards from this vertical pole. In addition, it has a plurality of further vertical poles extending downward from the horizontal poles. In this manner, the umbrella is supported by four, six, or more vertical poles. Any or all of the poles can be telescoping poles, such that they can be increased or decreased in length. The connection of the horizontal poles to a vertical pole above and/or below can also be rotatable connections which lock into place at 90 degrees, but through human force, can unlock to place the horizontal poles in parallel with a vertical pole above or below itself. In this manner, one can fold the umbrella over the poles and shorten the length and/or width of the device.

UMBRELLA EXTENSION FOR HUMAN AND PET
An extended umbrella providing a secondary canopy coverage area for a pet. The secondary canopy coverage area is supported by a secondary structure attached to a main umbrella shaft with a clamp. Alternatively, the secondary canopy coverage area is provided with no secondary shaft attached to the main umbrella shaft, with the extended canopy connected to a main umbrella by interlocking the ribs with the extension canopy. The secondary coverage area alternatively is formed by an extended umbrella forming a canopy that is continuous and supported with two sections of ribs that snap or hinge in place.

Umbrella device
An umbrella for removably securing to a surface, such as a vehicle. The umbrella includes a shaft having a handle on a first end and a canopy on an opposing second end. One or more ribs are secured to the canopy in order to support the canopy in an open configuration. Each rib includes one or more weights in order to stabilize the canopy when secured to a surface. One or more magnets are secured to a lower end of each rib in order to removably secure the umbrella to a magnetic surface for hands-free use. An upper end of each rib is hingedly secured to the shaft. The ribs are operably connected to an actuatable button in the handle so as to extend the ribs outward from the shaft in order to expand the canopy into the open configuration.
