Insulated radiant barriers in apparel

Fabrics made for apparel, tents, sleeping bags and the like, in various composites, constructed such that a combination of substrate layers and insulation layers is configured to provide improved thermal insulation. The fabric composites are constructed to form a radiant barrier against heat loss via radiation and via conduction from a body.

Foamed polyolefin-based-resin sheet

The present invention provides a polyolefin resin foam sheet having an area density of 5 g/m.sup.2 or more and 400 g/m.sup.2 or less, and having a time (t) required for a weight decrease from 90% by mass to 10% by mass, of 9 minutes or more, as measured by thermogravimetric analysis carried out at a heating rate of 10? C./min and a measurement temperature of 23? C. to 550? C. According to the present invention, a polyolefin resin foam sheet can be provided that has a high fire retardancy while maintaining a lightweight property.

Laminated sheet and method of manufacturing the same

A laminated sheet includes a base cloth layer having a porous structure obtained by impregnating a woven fabric, which has a tear strength by a trapezoid method of 150 N or more in the longitudinal direction and 100 N or more in the lateral direction, with a resin composition containing a polyurethane resin and an organic flame retardant, and a skin layer layered on the base cloth layer, and has plural air holes penetrating in the thickness direction.

IMPROVED FLAME RESISTANT THERMAL LINERS AND GARMENTS MADE WITH SAME

Embodiments of the present invention replace relatively bulky nonwoven thermal insulating materials used in thermal liners with thin, lightweight, flexible films that maintain or improve TPP performance while reducing the thickness, and enhancing the flexibility, of the thermal liner so as to increase wearer comfort. Moreover, the films incorporated into the thermal liners can be both air and vapor permeable such that the TPP performance is not realized at the expense of THL performance. Rather, the THL performance of garments incorporating embodiments of thermal liners contemplated herein is comparable toif not improved overgarments formed with traditional thermal liners.

A coated textile contains a web based on glass fibres having a back face, a front face and at least one edge. The front face is covered with a coating layer based on silicone and back face is capable of being bonded to a support. The coating layer has a thickness between 5 m and 250 m and includes at least one inorganic flame retardant compound in a quantity which is sufficient for the coated textile to have a gross calorific value of less than or equal to 3 MJ/kg, the inorganic flame retardant compound having a D50 granule size of less than 50 m.
