10164918 · 2018-12-25 · ·

The present invention is a method and system for using predetermined preferences/characteristics to ascertain personal compatibility between network or chat room participants based upon profile information. When the system determines that these preferences are favorable for interpersonal compatibility, the system will automatically notify or page the participants so as to facilitate their introduction. Further functionality, aside from the compatibility based upon profile information, includes e-mail and other electronic notification of personal compatibility as well as geographic compatibility.

Data processing apparatus, method for controlling data processing apparatus, and program

A data processing apparatus includes multiple processing means that are connected in a ring shape via corresponding communication means respectively. Each communication means includes a reception means for receiving data from a previous communication means, and a transmission means for transmitting data to a next communication means. Connection information is assigned to each of the reception means and the transmission means. The communication means, when receiving a packet that has same connection information as one assigned to its reception means, causes the corresponding processing means to perform data processing on the packet, sets the connection information assigned to its transmission means to the packet, and transmits the packet to the next communication means, and when receiving a packet that has connection information that is not same as one assigned to its reception means, transmits the packet to the next communication means without changing the connection information of the packet.

Methods and apparatus are described for scoring documents in response, in part, to parameters related to the document, source, and/or cluster score. Methods and apparatus are also described for scoring a cluster in response, in part, to parameters related to documents within the cluster and/or sources corresponding to the documents within the cluster. In one embodiment, the invention may identify the source; detect a plurality of documents published by the source; analyze the plurality of documents with respect to at least one parameter, and determine a source score for the source in response, in part, to the parameter. In another embodiment, the invention may identify a topic; identify a plurality of clusters in response to the topic; analyze at least one parameter corresponding to each of the plurality of clusters; and calculate a cluster score for each of the plurality of clusters in response, in part, to the parameter.

Methods and systems for selecting and presenting content based on dynamically identifying microgenres associated with the content

A method of selecting and presenting content based on learned user preferences is provided. The method includes providing a content system including a set of content items organized by genre characterizing the content items, and wherein the set of content items contains microgenre metadata further characterizing the content items. The method also includes receiving search input from the user for identifying desired content items and, in response, presenting a subset of content items to the user. The method further includes receiving content item selection actions from the user and analyzing the microgenre metadata within the selected content items to learn the preferred microgenres of the user. The method includes, in response to receiving subsequent user search input, selecting and presenting content items in an order that portrays as relatively more relevant those content items containing microgenre metadata that more closely match the learned microgenre preferences of the user.

INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM AND METHOD

An information retrieval method, process, and apparatus are provided which includes iterative or parametric data set querying. The result of each query iteration may be displayed in an easy to analyze fashion, enabling the user to interactively refine the query with additional iterations. Each field of data in a data set may be represented by a filter in a filter tree table. A user may graphically select and de-select filters using the filter tree table. The selections may be converted into a filtering query that is run against the data set to produce filtered data. A summary query may then run against the results of the filtering query. The filtered data may be displayed, along with the selected filters of the filter tree table. The filter tree table may also display other information related to each filter, such as an associated data item count as generated by the summary query.

System and method for detecting duplicate documents

A method and system are disclosed for identifying in real time duplicate financial documents processed by a financial institution or check clearinghouse. A collection of hash values representative of previously processed financial documents are maintained in a memory, such as a GPU memory. When a new financial document enters the financial institution or check clearinghouse for processing, one or more features of the financial document are captured. A hash value is generated from the one or more features of the financial document. A search is performed in the collection of hash values for a matching hash value. If a match is found, a potential fraudulent event or operational error may be indicated. If a match is not found, the hash value representative of the new financial document is added to the collection of hash values.

Information retrieval system and method

The result of each query iteration is displayed in an easy to analyze fashion, enabling the user to interactively refine the query with additional iterations. Each field of data in a data set is represented by a filter in a filter tree table. A user may graphically select and de-select filters using the filter tree table. The selections are converted into a filtering query that is run against the data set to produce filtered data. A summary query is then run against the results of the filtering query. The filtered data is displayed, along with the selected filters of the filter tree table. The filter tree table may also include and display other information related to each filter, such as an associated data item count as generated by the summary query. Further user input is accepted, with the user input further selecting or de-selecting data groupings to be displayed. The user input is fed back to generate another filtering iteration. In this manner, when the user makes a single selection or de-selection, all applicable filters are changed, and the user changes are propagated through all appropriate filters.

System and Method For Analyzing Data Records

Systems and methods for analyzing input data records are provided in which a master process initiates a plurality of concurrent first processes each of which comprises, for each data record in at least a subset of a plurality of input data records, creating a parsed representation of the data record and independently applying a procedural language query to the parsed representation to extract one or more values. A respective emit operator is applied to at least one of the extracted one or more values thereby adding corresponding information to a respective intermediate data structure. The respective emit operator implements one of a predefined set of statistical information processing functions. The master process also initiates a plurality of second processes each of which aggregates information from a corresponding subset of intermediate data structures to produce aggregated data that is, in turn, combined to produce output data.

Computer-Implemented System and Method for Identifying Documents for Review

A computer-implemented system and method for identifying documents for review is provided. A set of documents is sorted by topic. A status of near duplicate is assigned to two or more documents in the set. Threads of the documents are identified. Each thread includes at least one near duplicate document that is recursively included within another near duplicate document in that thread. In each thread, the near duplicate documents are ordered based on a length of the thread included in each near duplicate document. The near duplicate document that has the longest length is selected for each thread and provided for review.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SELECTING AND PRESENTING CONTENT ON A FIRST SYSTEM BASED ON USER PREFERENCES LEARNED ON A SECOND SYSTEM

A method of selecting and presenting content on a first system based on user preferences learned on a second system is provided. The method includes receiving a user's input for identifying items of the second content system and, in response thereto, presenting a subset of items of the second content system and receiving the user's selection actions thereof. The method includes analyzing the selected items to learn the user's content preferences for the content of the second content system and determining a relationship between the content of the first and second content systems to determine preferences relevant to items of the first content system. The method includes, in response subsequent user input for items of the first content system, selecting and ordering a collection of items of the first content system based on the user's learned content preferences determined to be relevant to the items of the first content system.
