An exemplary method of displaying a data visualization includes displaying a graphical user interface that includes three distinct regions, and receiving user actions to associate three different fields with three different shelves, including a shelf that defines colors of data marks. The method also includes generating, in accordance with the received user actions, data marks to be displayed in a data visualization, each data mark corresponding to a respective retrieved tuple of data from a multidimensional database, where (i) each data mark has an x-position defined according to data for a first field in the respective tuple, (ii) each data mark has a y-position defined according to data for a second field in the respective tuple, and (iii) each data mark has a color assigned according to data for a third field in the respective tuple. The method also includes displaying a data visualization that includes the generated data marks.

A computer-implemented method of interacting with at least one data item includes storing, in a database system, a configuration, of each of the data items as a distinct information object, in which each information object has an association with a picture and a heading and/or a link to the corresponding data item. The method additionally uses the stored configurations to make available for display a representation of each of at least two of the information objects in a uniform format, wherein the format includes a card, and, within the card, at least the picture, a set of indicators, the set of indicators having at least one member, and a set of graphically accessible functions.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SELECTING AND PRESENTING CONTENT BASED ON DYNAMICALLY IDENTIFYING MICROGENRES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTENT

A method of selecting and presenting content based on learned user preferences is provided. The method includes providing a content System including a set of content items organized by genre characterizing the content items, and wherein the set of content items contains microgenre metadata further characterizing the content items. The method also includes receiving search input from the user for identifying desired content items and, in response, presenting a subset of content items to the user. The method further includes receiving content item selection actions from the user and analyzing the microgenre metadata within the selected content items to learn the preferred microgenres of the user. The method includes, in response to receiving subsequent user search input, selecting and presenting content items in an order that portrays as relatively more relevant those content items containing microgenre metadata that more closely match the learned microgenre preferences of the user.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NON-PROGRAMMERS TO DYNAMICALLY MANAGE MULTIPLE SETS OF XML DOCUMENT DATA
20190034552 · 2019-01-31 ·

A system and method for dynamically retrieving, manipulating, updating, creating, and displaying data from sources of Extensible. Markup Language (XML) documents. The program memory comprises system-user entered data definitions and business rules. The system imports XML document data into the system data definitions, processes the data using the business rules definitions and exports XML documents. The system can automatically create XML document formats from its data definitions and can automatically create its data definitions from XML document formats. The system-user can also define the mapping between XML document formats and the system data definitions. The system data definition is the combination of a Relational data model, an Object data model, and an XML data model.

ADJUSTING PADDING OF GRAPHICAL CHARTS REPRESENTING DATA FROM MULTIDIMENSIONAL DATABASES

An exemplary method of displaying a data visualization includes retrieving a dataset that includes a plurality of fields and displaying a graphical user interface with a plurality of shelves. The method further includes receiving user actions to: (i) associate a first field with a first shelf, and (ii) associate a second field with a second shelf; displaying, in accordance with the received user actions, a data visualization, where each data mark has a first size defined according to a default position of a displayed slidable affordance; and receiving an additional user action that moves the slidable affordance from the default position to a user-defined position. In response to receiving the additional user action, the method further includes updating the data visualization, where each data mark included in the updated data visualization has a second size, different from the first size, defined according to the user-defined position of the slidable affordance.

Data storage system and method by shredding and deshredding

A system and method for data storage by shredding and deshredding of the data allows for various combinations of processing of the data to provide various resultant storage of the data. Data storage and retrieval functions include various combinations of data redundancy generation, data compression and decompression, data encryption and decryption, and data integrity by signature generation and verification. Data shredding is performed by shredders and data deshredding is performed by deshredders that have some implementations that allocate processing internally in the shredder and deshredder either in parallel to multiple processors or sequentially to a single processor. Other implementations use multiple processing through multi-level shredders and deshredders. Redundancy generation includes implementations using non-systematic encoding, systematic encoding, or a hybrid combination. Shredder based tag generators and deshredder based tag readers are used in some implementations to allow the deshredders to adapt to various versions of the shredders.

System for efficient recovery of node-B buffered data following MAC layer reset

A method and system for the UE and RNC to reduce transmission latency and potentially prevent loss of PDUs upon a MAC-hs layer reset. The RNC generates a radio resource control (RRC) message with a MAC-hs reset indication. The MAC reset indication requires the UE to flush buffers for configured HARQ processes, disassemble MAC protocol data units (PDUs) in the reordering buffers, deliver MAC-d PDUs to a MAC-d layer, and configure the MAC-hs to receive new data.

High performance map editor for business analysts

At least one model synchronization map table is built that facilitates navigation between elements of business objects of a business object model and corresponding elements of an extensible markup language (XML) schema definition-based (XSD-based) model. The XSD-based model includes at least one XML schema and is generated from the business object model. The business object model and the XSD-based model are displayed in a dual-view editor. The dual-view editor enables a user to toggle between and independently edit the business object model and the XSD-based model. In response to independent edits made to one of the XSD-based model and the business object model within the dual-view editor, the elements of the business object model are automatically synchronized with the corresponding elements of the XSD-based model using the at least one model synchronization map table.

User interface methods and systems for selecting and presenting content based on user relationships

A user-interface method of selecting and presenting a collection of content items based on user navigation and selection actions associated with the content is provided. The method includes associating a relevance weight on a per user basis with content items to indicate a relative measure of likelihood that the user desires the content item. The method includes receiving a user's navigation and selections actions for identifying desired content items, and in response, adjusting the associated relevance weight of the selected content item and group of content items containing the selected item. The method includes, in response to subsequent user input, selecting and presenting a subset of content items and content groups to the user ordered by the adjusted associated relevance weights assigned to the content items and content groups.
