System and method for piece picking or put-away with a mobile manipulation robot

A method and system for piece-picking or piece put-away within a logistics facility. The system includes a central server and at least one mobile manipulation robot. The central server is configured to communicate with the robots to send and receive piece-picking data which includes a unique identification for each piece to be picked, a location within the logistics facility of the pieces to be picked, and a route for the robot to take within the logistics facility. The robots can then autonomously navigate and position themselves within the logistics facility by recognition of landmarks by at least one of a plurality of sensors. The sensors also provide signals related to detection, identification, and location of a piece to be picked or put-away, and processors on the robots analyze the sensor information to generate movements of a unique articulated arm and end effector on the robot to pick or put-away the piece.

Systems and methods for acquiring and moving objects

An end effector system is disclosed for a robotic system that includes a primary acquisition system that includes a primary end effector, and a secondary retention system that substantially surrounds at least a portion of the primary acquisition system, wherein at least a portion of the primary acquisition system may be drawn up within at least a portion of the secondary retention system such that the primary end effector system may be used to select an object from a plurality of objects, and the secondary retention system may be used to secure the object for rapid transport to an output destination.

A method of analyzing shipments of goods includes receiving, by a transceiver of a shipment analysis system, a heat map template, where the heat map template is an expected heat map for a plurality of packages in a shipment. The method also includes directing electromagnetic radiation from an electromagnetic radiation source to the package to heat any ferromagnetic material in or on a package. The method also includes generating, by a processor of the shipment analysis system, a heat map based on the heating of any ferromagnetic material in or on the package. The method further includes generating, by the processor, an alert responsive to a determination that the generated heat map does not match the heat map template. The alert indicates that the package is not one of the plurality of packages in the shipment.

An induction heating system a base and an electromagnetic radiation source configured to generate an emission area in the base. The emission area comprises a portion of the base that receives electromagnetic radiation from the electromagnetic radiation source. The system also includes a ferromagnetic element and an element controller configured to move the ferromagnetic element into and out of the emission area.

Article transferring method in semiconductor fabrication

A method for transporting an article used in semiconductor fabrication is provided. The method includes moving a first transporter next to an article to have the article faces a plurality of gas holes formed on the first transporter; suspending the article with the first transporter in a non-contact manner by providing a flow of gas through the gas holes of the first transporter; and transferring the article with the first transporter while the flow of gas is continuously provided.

Mobile robot

A robot includes an inverted pendulum body having first and second end portions, a counter-balance body disposed on the inverted pendulum body and configured to move relative to the inverted pendulum body, at least one leg having first and second ends, and a drive wheel rotatably coupled to the second end of the at least one leg. The first end of the at least one leg is prismatically coupled to the second end portion of the inverted pendulum body.

An adapter which allows an object to be pulled into a chamber after being gripped by a gripper module with a drive, said chamber being formed by an outer shell is provided. The outer shell is designed to at least partly cover the object and is sufficiently large so as to shield the object. The adapter can be understood as a gripper base system to which the gripper module is adapted. The drive pulls the entire gripper module including the object into the gripper base system. The adapter provides a safety gripper system with an object housing for a safe human/robot interaction. The outer shell protects persons from sharp-edged objects which are gripped by the gripper module and which could otherwise lead to an injury of the persons located in the working area.
