A KEY-RELEASABLE SECURING DEVICE
20190185234 · 2019-06-20 ·

A key-releasable securing device has a flexible strap having a plurality of teeth and a locking head. The locking head has a cavity in which the flexible strap is insertable into and through to form a securing loop of adjustable dimension. The flexible strap is slidably movable in first or second directions to reduce or increase, respectively, the dimension of the securing loop. A pawl member is located inside the locking head so as to engage with the teeth of the flexible strap to allow movement in the first direction but prevent movement in the second direction. As a release key is inserted into the locking head, the release key is guided by guide means into engagement with the pawl member, so as to move the pawl member out of engagement with the teeth of the flexible strap to allow the strap to move in the second direction.

The loop arrangement is adapted to be movable between a non-furled condition, in which respective first and second ends of the first attachment portion and the second loop portion are located away from one another, and a furled condition, in which the second loop portion is wrapped around the rope to form a wrapped section with the first attachment portion fitted through the second loop portion and extending laterally of the rope and with the second end of the second loop portion being retained by the retainer thereby maintaining the furled condition. A retainer and an associated method of use is also disclosed.

Side release buckle fastener with semi rigid insertion structure
10159291 · 2018-12-25 · ·

A quick fastening and disconnecting buckle fastener system is configured for improved ease of one handed adjustment. For reliable locking, and convenient operation the system incorporates lateral pivoting latches assembled within a receiving enclosure shell having entry and exit openings accommodating a lengthwise semi rigid insertion structure containing lateral opposing ridges. Said ridges cooperate with said latches in a manner allowing ease of continued entry directional movement and securely locking should motion be reversed. Purposeful disconnection is activated thru simultaneous press in of side levers releasing latch locking of insertion structure thereby allowing movement in a reversed direction. Use of aforementioned fastening device removes need for having to re-lace belt thru attachment loops or additional sliding hardware as means of adjustment.
