SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CRIMPING A PROSTHETIC VALVE
A device for crimping a radially expandable and collapsible prosthetic valve comprises a crimping loop having a first end portion, a second end portion, and a loop portion extending between the first and second end portions and defining an opening configured to receive the prosthetic valve. The crimping loop is movable between a first state in which the opening has a first diameter and a second state in which the opening has a second diameter smaller than the first diameter such that when the prosthetic valve is positioned within the loop portion, movement of the crimping loop from the first state to the second state is effective to reduce a diameter of the prosthetic valve. A method for crimping a prosthetic valve comprises reducing a diameter of an opening of a crimping loop, thereby radially compressing an at least partially expanded prosthetic valve disposed within the opening.
Pressing tool with switchblade bistable tensioning mechanism
A pressing tool for joining a pipe and a fitting, including two swivel elements for pressing the pipe and the fitting, a receiving region, formed between the swivel elements, for receiving the pipe and the fitting, at least one swivel axis for rotatably mounting the swivel elements, and a tensioning mechanism for pretensioning the pressing tool. The swivel elements can be swivelled towards one another about the at least one swivel axis to press the pipe and the fitting. In a first, closed position, the receiving region is narrower than in a second, open position, of the swivel elements, wherein the swivel elements are pretensioned towards the closed position by the tensioning mechanism. At least one holding device is provided for holding the swivel elements in the open position against the pretensioning force generated by the tensioning mechanism.
Coupling assembly and method for retrofitting a pipe
A coupling assembly and method for retrofitting a water pipe for installation of a pipe insert or device is disclosed. The coupling assembly may include a plunger assembly, a two-part clam shell, an adapter port, and an internally ribbed flexible sleeve including first internal ribs and second internal ribs, wherein the first internal ribs are configured to engage a grooved portion of the adapter port. Prior to installation, a first portion of the internally ribbed flexible sleeve may be attached to the adapter port and a second portion of the sleeve may be rolled up over the first portion. The method may include aligning the port adapter with the cut water pipe; rolling the second portion of the sleeve from the port adapter onto the cut pipe; placing a two-piece clam shell over the sleeve; and tightening two oppositely treaded nuts over the two-piece clam shell.
System and method for crimping a prosthetic heart valve
A device for crimping a radially expandable and collapsible prosthetic valve comprises a coiled wire frame having a longitudinal opening extending from a proximal end to a distal end thereof. The opening has a first state and a second state, the opening in the first state having a first diameter dimensioned to receive the prosthetic valve in an expanded or partially crimped configuration therein, and the opening in the second state having a second diameter dimensioned to receive the prosthetic valve in a crimped configuration. The coiled wire frame has a first end coupled to a first member and a second end coupled to a second member. The first member is movable relative to the second member to convert the coiled wire frame from the first state to the second state.
Method for inserting a hose coupling into a hose
Apparatus and method for inserting a hose coupling into a hose, the coupling and the hose having inner surfaces defining an inner diameter. A shaft has a first and a second end. A gripping member is associated with the shaft and is movable between a relaxed condition wherein the gripping member has a diameter less than the inner diameters of the hose the coupling and an expanded condition wherein the diameter of the gripping member is increased so that the gripping member grippingly contacts the inner surface of the hose to secure the shaft in the hose in a way that the second end of the shaft extends from the hose. A pusher member is associated with the shaft, and is engageable with the coupling and is movable along the shaft towards the gripping member to insert the coupling into the hose.
Extraction device for removing an adapter secured in a port
This disclosure relates generally to couplings used in mining and other applications. An extraction device for removing an adapter from a port formed in a structure is provided. The extraction device may include an end wall and a side wall. The end wall may define an external face of the extraction device. The side wall may extend axially away from a periphery of the end wall. The side wall may terminate at an end face of the extraction device. The end face may have a larger dimension than the port so as to abut the structure adjacent to a periphery of the port. The side wall may include an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface may have a threaded portion.
Socket fusion jig
A socket fusion jig includes a pipe saddle and coupling saddle spaced apart. Rotation of a handle causes the pipe saddle and coupling saddle to move laterally relative to one another so that the pipe held in the pipe saddle may be fused to the coupling held in the coupling saddle.
Pressing jaw, method for producing a non-detachable pipe joint, fitting and system consisting of a pressing jaw and a fitting
A cheek plate for producing a non-detachable pipe joint having an upper cheek half and a lower cheek half, at least one swivel pin which pivotally mounts at least one cheek half, and a receiving region formed between the upper cheek half and the lower cheek half and having a receiving region axis, the at least one cheek half being able to pivot between an open position and a closed position substantially transversely with respect to the receiving region axis. The problem of providing a cheek plate such that the cheek plate permits pressing transverse to the receiving region axis and at the same time a reduction in workpiece size is permitted is solved in that at least one pushing unit is provided, the pushing unit being displaceable at least partially in parallel with the receiving region axis.
Assembly and method of coupling pipes
A jig assembly and method of use are provided for positioning and re-rounding pipes for welding. The jig assembly comprises a first jaw assembly and a second jaw assembly which position and move a coupling onto one pipe then the second pipe for subsequent welding.
