Aid device
An aid device for mounting and/or dismantling a guide ring segment which is to be attached or is held on a support, in particular a turbine guide blade guide support of a gas turbine is disclosed. The aid device having a main body, which can be fastened releasably fastened to the guide ring segment, and having a holding device, to which a traction mechanism can be fastened releasably, wherein the holding device is configured to transmit a pulling force to the main body, which pulling force acts via the traction mechanism in an installing direction or an expelling direction of the guide ring segment.
Method for making seating from pressure vessels
Disclosed are seating made from pressure vessels, such as cylindrical propane tanks with hemispherical ends, as well as methods for making this kind of seating. The methods involve cutting sections of the reclaimed tanks and placing those sections on a jig that establishes defined, ergonomic positions for seat and back portions of the furniture, and welding appropriate ends or supports to the sections to form the piece of furniture. The pieces of furniture are made without bending, rolling, or otherwise changing the shape of the cut sections from the pressure vessel.
Assembly tool for exhaust turbochargers
A lifting apparatus for assembly of exhaust turbocharger allows the removal of the rotor block from the housing in a horizontal direction. The lifting apparatus includes a cantilever, which is fastened on a vertical stop, i.e. on an axial end, of the housing, and on which there is arranged a structure which can be moved along the cantilever and which is likewise fastened on a vertical stop, i.e. an axial end of the rotor block.
Positioning device
A product positioning device includes a support, a first guide rail, a second guide rail, a support platform, a latching device, and a driving device. The first guide rail and the second guide rail are positioned on the support. The support platform is configured to receive a product to be positioned. The support platform is movable to an end of the first guide rail. The latching device is movable to a position holding the product to be positioned against the support platform. The driving device is movable to a position nearer the support platform. The driving device is further slidably engaged with the second guide rail. The driving device moves to the driving device position as the support platform moves to the end of the first guide rail, and the latching device moves to the latching device position as the driving device moves to the driving device position.
Windshield setting system
A device for facilitating the removal and installation of a windshield by a single technician without use of heavy equipment includes a base plate, a slide plate and a deck plate. The base plate may be secured to a wiper blade post. The slide plate is secured to the base plate and may be slidably adjusted to a desired position. A deck plate may be secured to the slide plate. The deck plate has a roller or other channel within which the edge of windshield may easily slide in order to position the windshield and support most of its weight as it is manipulated by a technician.
Method for Installing a Pulling Head Assembly
A workstation and method for the installation of a pulling head assembly onto one or more conductors of a cabling system are provided. The workstation incorporates one or more of: a conductor clamp that holds the conductors of the cabling system in place during the installation of the pulling head assembly; a cutting guide having indicia marks that indicate the lengths to which to cut the conductors in order to achieve a staggered pattern of pulling eyes attached to the conductors in the pulling head assembly; a stripping tool that is used to remove a portion of the insulation from the terminal end of each conductor so that the end of the conductor may be inserted into the pulling eye; and a crimping tool that is used to crimp the pulling eyes onto the terminal ends of each of the conductors.
Method and apparatus for automated multi-drilling and multi-rivet machine
Method and apparatus for assembling, with fasteners, components of a structure having an outboard side, an inboard side, and a supporting frame. The components are placed together on the frame. An electromagnet having a core with multiple openings is positioned on the outboard side. A magnetically attractive member is placed against the inboard side opposite and aligned with the electromagnet. When activated, the electromagnet is attracted towards the magnetically attractive member and the two hold the components together. Multiple drill members pass through the openings in the core of the electromagnet and multiple openings are drilled simultaneously through the components. Subsequently, multiple rivets or huck bolts are simultaneously inserted into the drilled openings.
