WINDSCREEN INSTALLATION APPARATUS AND METHOD
A side window mount assembly is provided for use in handling windscreens, which includes a vehicle anchor device for securing to a vehicle side window, a platform mechanically secured to the vehicle anchor device, a raising and lowering index hub supported by the platform, a connecting arm extending from the raising and lowering index hub, and a mount structure operably coupled to the connecting arm. The mount structure is configured to engage a support arm of a windscreen anchor assembly. The raising and lower index hub controls index rotation of the connecting arm that moves the mount structure between a dropped down and a raised-up position in an index-wise manner between a series of successively rotationally spaced positions of the raising and lowering index hub.
Method and tool for assembling a bone anchoring device
A method for assembling a bone anchoring device includes inserting a bone anchoring element in a first holder of a tool and inserting a receiving part in a second holder of the tool, actuating the tool from a first configuration towards a second configuration to insert a head of the bone anchoring element into the receiving part; continuing actuation of the tool towards the second configuration to move a locking ring and a receiving part body of the receiving part relative to each other until the locking ring assumes a second position with respect to the receiving part body in which the locking ring is latched to the receiving part body in a position where the locking ring compresses a portion of the receiving part body to compress the head, such that the head is held in and cannot be removed from the receiving part body and the bone anchoring element is held adjustably at a first angular position relative to the receiving part, and removing the attached bone anchoring element and receiving part from the tool. The tool is configured for the execution of the steps according to the method.
ASSEMBLY AIDES AND METHOD OF INSTALLING CHAIN DRIVEN POWER TAKE OFF
Assembly tools or aides assist the installation of chains and sprockets for a power take off in a motor vehicle automatic transmission. A first tool is an assembly clip having a semi-circular channel that engages the periphery of a chain disposed about a socket. The clip facilitates installation of the chain and a first sprocket through a slot or other opening in the side of a transmission housing while a second sprocket is being secured to a transmission shaft and the chain is engaged thereabout. The clip also facilitates positioning of the first sprocket in a desired location, typically on a driven shaft while retaining the chain thereabout. A second tool includes a pair of elongate, parallel pins which cooperate with the clip and the first sprocket to hold it in place during assembly of certain components of the transmission such as a power take off shaft or bulkhead.
Method and apparatus for changing spacers
A method and apparatus for the, preferably automated, changing of spacers in a plant having at least one applicator head for applying spacers to panel-shaped workpieces, in particular glass panes. Spacers from at least two sources are fed to the applicator head in an offset manner with respect to one another. A first spacer from a first source is separated. The resulting end of the first spacer and a start of the second spacer, which comes from a second source, are moved into a mutually assigned position by a changing device. Then, the end of the first spacer is connected to the start of the second spacer. A resulting connection of the first spacer with the second spacer runs through the plant until the connection has passed the applicator head. Thereafter, the second spacer is separated in a region between the connection and the applicator head.
