Anti-backlash gear control device
An anti-backlash gear control device is disclosed that includes a first bias module operable to generate a first bias to be applied to a first motor operable with a first gear, and a second bias module operable to generate a second bias, opposite the first bias, to be applied to a second motor operable with a second gear. The first gear and the second gear are operably connected to a load gear, such that rotation of at least one of the first gear and the second gear causes the load gear to move. Additionally, a command module can receive a drive command and output at least one of first and second command signals based on the drive command to be summed with the first and second biases, respectively, to generate first and second drive signals to operate the first and second motors to drive the first and second gears, respectively.
Steering angle sensor
A steering angle sensor, equipped for installation in a steering arrangement of a motor vehicle, is provided. The steering angle sensor comprises a rotatably mounted first gearwheel which upon actuation of the steering arrangement rotates about an axis and at least one rotatably mounted second gearwheel which is in engagement with the first gearwheel and is carried along with a rotary movement of the first gearwheel, so that with reference to a rotary movement of the second gearwheel a steering angle of the steering arrangement can be determined. The teeth of at least one of the gearwheels are tapered in axial direction along the tooth width such that a respective tooth of the one gearwheel, which is tapered along the tooth width, with wedge action can be fitted into a tooth gap of the gearwheel in engagement therewith.
Worm biasing structure
A worm biasing structure biasing a worm engaged with a worm wheel includes a radial bearing and an elastic body. The radial bearing supports the worm in a radial direction. The elastic body has elasticity and biases the radial bearing toward the worm wheel in a biasing direction. The elastic body includes a low-spring rate elastic body and a high-spring rate elastic body having a higher spring rate than that of the low-spring rate elastic body in series in the biasing direction.
Steering rack wear compensator assembly
A wear compensator assembly configured for exerting a predetermined biasing force on a rack and a pinion shaft of a steering gear assembly is disclosed. The wear compensator assembly includes a cam member having a seating surface and a biasing member seated against the seating surface of the cam member. The biasing member is configured to be compressed by a predetermined amount and to exert the predetermined biasing force.
Electric power steering device
An electric power steering device includes a worm which is swingably connected to the rotation shaft of an electric motor through a joint. A first end portion and second end portion of the worm are supported by a first bearing and a second bearing, respectively. A pair of elastic members elastically urge the worm to an axial neutral position. An annular leaf spring which is held by a housing urges the second end portion toward a worm wheel through the second bearing. A synthetic resin member having a sliding contact surface which is in contact with the leaf spring is integrally disposed on the second bearing.
Apparatus for pressing a rack against a pinion of a steering gear assembly
An apparatus for pressing a rack against a pinion of a steering gear assembly includes a housing, a support yoke slidably guided in the housing along an axis, a bearing element that is fixed to the housing in an axial direction, a first elastic element providing an axial load acting upon the support yoke and the bearing element to urge the support yoke against the rack, a wear-compensating abutment member coacting with the bearing element such that a relative rotation about the axis generates an axial displacement of the abutment member relative to the bearing element, and a separate, second elastic element providing a load acting upon the abutment member in a circumferential direction to urge the abutment member against the support yoke.
Anti-backlash gear
A stiff anti-backlash gear unit comprising two or more high ratio reducer assemblies provides an energy efficient, low backlash, speed reducer. The gear unit is assembled in such a way as to eliminate backlash without any preloading and may be configured as a conventional, planetary or star gear with co-axial, spaced, angled or multiple output shafts.
Adjusting drive and method for producing an adjusting drive
An adjusting drive, in particular for a steering column adjuster or a vehicle seat of a motor vehicle, and a method for producing an adjusting drive, are provided in which an axial play of the output shaft is reliably and permanently compensated. The compensating element for ensuring the axial-play-free arrangement of the output shaft is connected, in its operating position, to the housing by ultrasound welding.
