An umbrella hub is provided that includes an inner portion, an outer periphery, a lower portion and an upper portion. A plurality of vertical grooves is disposed in the outer periphery and is configured to receive umbrella ribs or struts. A plurality of grooves extends transverse to the vertical grooves. A retention member is disposed in each of the transverse grooves. A first configuration of the hub permits deflection of the retention member such that a transverse pin coupled with the umbrella ribs or struts can be inserted into the transverse groove in which the retention member is disposed. A second configuration of the hub prevents deflection of the retention member such that inadvertent withdrawal of the pin from the transverse groove in which the retention member is disposed is prevented.

Modern Umbrella

This invention proposes a modern umbrella, which consists of ribs, nests, shaft and canopy. The ribs have long ribs and supporting ribs, and the nests are composed of upper nest and lower nest, with the lower nest composed of several disks from up to down. Between two neighboring disks is a connecting tube, and the disks mentioned above have several mounting notches, which are not arranged in order. One end of supporting rib is articulated to mounting notch, and the other end to long rib. With regard to two neighboring disks, the distance from the joint between supporting rib connected with upper disk and long rib to upper nest is no greater than the distance from the joint between supporting rib connected with lower disk and long rib to upper nest. The canopy clings to long ribs to shape various concave-convex surfaces. Through layers of disks at the lower nest, the canopy clinging to ribs shows the staggered arrangement of concave-convex surfaces to improve water diversion effects, air flow dispersion ability and the ability to withstand wind. Meanwhile, such design can achieve the aim of folding the umbrella safely.

CANTILEVER UMBRELLA

A cantilever umbrella including a frame having an upper tray and a lower tray is provided. Two first crossed rods, a transverse rod and a first long rib are articulated to the upper tray. Two second crossed rods and two first short ribs are articulated to the lower tray. One of the two first short ribs is articulated to a middle portion of the transverse rod and the other one is articulated to a middle portion of the first long rib. A middle portion of each second crossed rod is articulated to a middle portion of the first crossed rod on a same side. An end of each first crossed rod is articulated with a short-rib tray which is articulated to a short rib, and an end of each second crossed rod is articulated with a long-rib tray which is articulated to a long rib. The short ribs each has one end articulated to the short-rib tray and another end articulated to a middle portion of one of the long ribs. The upper tray and the two long-rib trays are each disposed with a cap thereon, and a canopy fabric is covered on the long ribs to form three canopies.

FLASK ASSEMBLY

There is a flask assembly comprising a container body having a void therein for containing a fluid. A canopy is removably coupled to a top portion of the container body. A handle cap is removably coupled to a bottom portion of the container body, through which the void is accessible. A channel is disposed along a length of the container body. A body runner is disposed substantially around a diameter of the container body between the canopy and the handle cap, and slidably coupled to the channel. A plurality of stretchers are hingedly coupled to the body runner and extending outwardly therefrom. A plurality of ribs are coupled to the stretchers at an end opposite the runner and extending outwardly therefrom and coupled to the canopy such that when the stretchers are in a deployed mode the canopy is held open by the ribs.

Rapidly deployable structures and methods of making the same

A rapidly deployable structure that includes a first and second hub, a plurality of legs and a rod connected to the first hub. The first hub includes first recesses. The second hub includes second recesses and an alignment guide. Each leg is connected to the first hub and the second hub. The rod connected is to the first hub and includes pins that are movable between an extended state, where pins protrude from the rod, and a retracted state where the pins are retracted within the rod. The first hub is movable relative to the second hub between a first state in which the rod is disposed above the alignment guide in an axial direction defined by an opening in the alignment guide and a second state in which a portion of the rod comprising the pins is below the alignment guide in the axial direction.
