Method of opening fluid control valve and fluid control valve used for the same
A method of opening a fluid control valve having a housing externally fitted onto a fluid pipe in a hermetic state and a valve body configured for contacting an inner peripheral surface of a hole of the fluid pipe provided in the housing and an inner peripheral surface of the fluid pipe to hermetically block or open flow of fluid in the fluid pipe. The method includes a pressure adjustment step of decreasing a pressure difference between the fluid in the fluid pipe on a first side and a second side of the valve body and the fluid in the fluid pipe in a blocking state of the valve body. The first side and the second side of the valve body are arranged so as to sandwich the valve body in an axial direction of the fluid pipe, and a valve opening step of opening the valve body.
Method and apparatus of hot tapping multiple coaxial or nested strings of underwater piping and/or tubing for overturned wells or platforms
A method and apparatus for tapping into a pressurized multiple strings of coaxially situated tubulars for wells and/or platforms which have overturned wherein the tapping occurs underwater via a diver or remotely operated vehicle. The assembly includes a tapping tool connectable to the tubular via a saddle connection and an adjustable tapping clamp with adjustable support/locking feet, compression plate with view ports, and angularly adjustable hot tapping system, along with a drill/saw system.
Above ground water tank fill/drain system
A trench is dug under an above ground water storage tank either before erection of the walls or after the wall is erected. A (rectangular) sump is preferably made of ? inch steel. It serves as a conduit from an inner tank liner port to an outside tank fill or drain port. The system eliminates hoses hung over the top edge of the tank wall. A pump can fill the tank from the outer port. The tank can be drained using head pressure of the water and/or a pump.
Tap with integral ball valve
A valved tap is disclosed comprising a tap body having a through bore from a threaded input end to an output end thereof. A globe valve is positioned in the valve body so as to interrupt the flow of fluid in the through bore. The output end of the tap body may comprise a flanged portion connectable to a manifold.
Pipe isolation and intervention
A tool assembly configured for location on a section of a pipe is operable to both isolate a section of the pipe and perform an intervention into the pipe while maintaining pressure integrity. The tool assembly includes a clamp, a cutting tool and an isolation tool. In use, the clamp sealingly secures the tool assembly to the pipe, the cutting tool performs an intervention operation on the pipe, and the isolation tool isolates the section of pipe in order that repair or replacement of equipment can be effected.
ARTICULATING DRILL METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING OPENINGS IN NESTED STRINGS OF UNDERWATER PIPING AND OR TUBING FOR OVERTURNED WELLS OR PLATFORMS
A method and apparatus for angularly drilling during a tapping procedure into a pressurized multiple strings of coaxially situated tubulars for wells and/or platforms which have overturned wherein the tapping occurs underwater via a diver or remotely operated vehicle.
Extended range tapping sleeve and gasket
An improved tapping sleeve assembly (114) comprising a sleeve (115) configured to clamp a main fluid conduit (116) oriented about a longitudinal axis (x-x), the sleeve having a first member (134), a second member (140) separate from the first member, and a connection assembly (121) between the first member and the second member, the first member having a branch aperture (123) configured to communicate with a branch fluid conduit (129), the connection assembly configured and arranged to tighten the first and the second members to the main fluid conduit, a gasket (132) disposed between the first member and the main fluid conduit, the gasket comprising a flexible sheet (133) and a thickened aperture seal (122) configured to extend around the branch aperture between the sleeve and the main fluid conduit, the gasket comprising an inwardly protruding circumferential seal bead (137a) extending substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis and intersecting an inwardly protruding portion of the aperture seal, the circumferential seal bead having a main length portion (139), the inwardly protruding portion of the aperture seal having a radial thickness (152) and the main length portion (139) of the circumferential seal bead having a radial thickness (141) less than the radial thickness of the inwardly protruding portion of the aperture seal, the circumferential seal bead having a junction end portion (153) between the main length portion of the circumferential seal bead and the inwardly protruding portion of the aperture seal, and the junction end portion of the circumferential seal bead having a non-uniform radial thickness (163).
METHOD OF OPENING FLUID CONTROL VALVE AND FLUID CONTROL VALVE USED FOR THE SAME
A method of opening a fluid control valve having a housing externally fitted onto a fluid pipe in a hermetic state and a valve body configured for contacting an inner peripheral surface of a hole of the fluid pipe provided in the housing and an inner peripheral surface of the fluid pipe to hermetically block or open a flow of fluid in the fluid pipe. The method includes a pressure adjustment step of decreasing a pressure difference between the fluid in the fluid pipe on a first side of the valve body and the fluid in the fluid pipe on a second side of the valve body in a blocking state of the valve body. The first side and the second side of the valve body are arranged so as to sandwich the valve body in an axial direction of the fluid pipe, and a valve opening step of opening the valve body.
ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD FOR INSERTING AND REMOVING A HEAD OF A MEASURING DEVICE TO AND FROM A PROCESS SPACE
An arrangement and method are disclosed for inserting and removing a head of a measuring device to and from a process space. The arrangement includes a measuring device with a measuring head and a retractor tool connected to a valve member. The retractor tool includes rails, a cradle for receiving the measuring device and arranged to slide along the rails, and a driving mechanism for moving the cradle. A valve lock mechanism prevents opening of the valve member if the measuring device is not at a location barring a fluid flow from the process space, and the head of the measuring device is insertable to the process space when the measuring device is received in the cradle.
Valve having a diverting cartridge with integral pressure balance
A valve having a diverting cartridge with an integral pressure balance for tubs, spouts and shower heads comprising of a housing having an opening to receive a cartridge, wherein the housing has a cold water inlet, a hot water inlet, and a shower outlet and a spout outlet. The cartridge has a cylindrical body with a plurality of cold water inlet apertures, a plurality of hot water inlet apertures and an outlet aperture designed on the cylindrical body. The hot and cold water inlet apertures of the cartridge are in alignment with the inlets of the housing for allowing hot and cold water to enter to the cartridge. A stationary sleeve with a cylindrical body is sized and placed inside the cartridge. The stationary sleeve has a plurality of first-apertures for hot water inlet, a plurality of second-apertures for tempered water outlet, and a plurality of third-apertures for cold water inlet. A movable shuttle is designed and placed inside the stationary sleeve, wherein the movable shuttle has a cylindrical-shuttle body with three annular portions and two conduits for hot and cold waters, wherein the two conduits are not connected to each other. Thereby, the hot water or cold water pressures inside the sleeve regulate the position of the movable shuttle.
