The pre-form is blow molded into a flexible pouch defining the variable-volume storage chamber. The one-way valve includes a semi-annular, curvilinear, relatively rigid valve seat defining axially-extending, opposing first marginal portions, and an axially-extending first mid-portion angularly extending between the opposing first marginal portions. A flexible valve member is superimposed on the valve seat and defines axially-extending, opposing second marginal portions fixedly secured on or adjacent to respective first marginal portions of the valve seat, and an axially-extending second mid-portion angularly extending between the opposing first marginal portions and superimposed onto the first mid-portion of the valve seat. The flexible valve cover and valve seat form a normally closed axially and angularly extending valve seam therebetween.

Nozzle check valve

The disclosed embodiments include check valves capable of improved dynamic performance (e.g., closing and opening times). The check valves may include an annular disc having an opening. The annular disc may be lightweight and present a reduced surface area to the flow, thus increasing the closure speed of the check valve as well as the opening speed of the check valve. Other components, such as a spacer component, may be reconfigured to modify the check valve for increased performance in a variety of applications, including low flow volume, medium flow volume, and high flow volume applications.

The present invention is a nitrous oxide safety system or method that provides a safety control valve actuated by low-vacuum fluids to control the release of nitrous oxide therethrough. The nitrous oxide safety system may include a low-vacuum fluid, a nitrous oxide fluid, a scavenging mask assembly, and a safety control valve. The low-vacuum fluid is generated by a vacuum source operating to achieve a predetermined parameter and the nitrous oxide fluid is provided by a nitrous oxide source. The scavenging mask assembly is fluidly connected with the nitrous oxide source and the vacuum source. The safety control valve is fluidly connected to the fluid connection between the nitrous oxide source and the vacuum source. The safety control valve is configured to be actuated when the low-vacuum fluid is input to the valve to release a flow of the nitrous oxide fluid through the safety control valve.

A nozzle check valve comprises a valve body (10) and a nozzle (20) centrally arranged within the upstream end of valve body (10), a fluid channel (90) is defined by the outer face of the nozzle (20) and the inner face of the valve body (10). A guide bush (60) is mounted on a nozzle axial extension (26) and an annular disc (30) comprising a disc sealing ring (31) connected to a central barrel (32,33) by a plurality of webs (34) is mounted on the guide bush (60) for axial movement of the annular disc (30) relative to the valve body to open and close the fluid channel (90). A spacer (80) is arranged on the nozzle axial extension (26) downstream of the guide bush (60) and a diffuser (40) is arranged on the downstream side of the spacer (80). A spring (50) between the annular disc (30) and the diffuser (40) urges the disc towards the valve closed position. The stroke of the valve, the maximum movement of the annular disc (30) from the valve closed position to the valve open position where the annular disc (30) is in contact with the upstream face of the diffuser (40), is determined by the axial length of the spacer (80). The centre of mass of the annular disc (30) is located along the central axis of the disc (30) at an axial position where the barrel (32) is in sliding contact with the guide bush (60).

The seat is made of a plastic material, has an aperture for enabling fluid to flow through the seat, and also has one end portion that has a circumferential edge with a thin sealing lip. The poppet is slidably arranged in the aperture of the seat and has an elastic member. The poppet is configured for opening to enable fluid to flow in one direction when fluid pressure is detected. The elastic member is configured for ensuring sealing between an outer surface of the poppet and the thin sealing lip of the seat when there is no fluid flow in the one direction so as to substantially prevent fluid flow in the opposite direction.
