Control valve, in particular for metering in a fluid for a delivery pump which is arranged downstream
A control valve is provided, in particular for metering in a fluid for a delivery pump which is arranged downstream. The control valve has a flow channel, an axially movable valve needle, and a valve element which can be loaded by the valve needle in an opening direction and is arranged in the flow channel. If the valve element is actuated in the opening direction by the valve needle, the fluid can flow back through the flow channel at least temporarily counter to the opening direction of the valve element. Upstream of the valve element as viewed in the backflow direction, the flow channel has a fluidically active shield which keeps the backflow at least partially free of a face of the valve element.
System and method for supplying fuel
A system for supplying fuel includes a fuel manifold, a water manifold, and a fluid junction between the fuel manifold and the water manifold. A turbulator downstream from the fluid junction receives a fluid flow from the fluid junction. A method for supplying fuel includes flowing fuel through a fuel manifold, flowing water through a water manifold, and combining a portion of the water from the water manifold with the fuel from the fuel manifold to create emulsion fuel. The method further includes flowing the emulsion fuel through a turbulator.
BLOOD TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present invention generally relates to hemodialysis and similar dialysis systems, including a variety of systems and methods that would make hemodialysis more efficient, easier, and/or more affordable. One aspect of the invention is generally directed to new fluid circuits for fluid flow. According to one aspect, a blood pump is configured to pump blood to a dialyzer of a hemodialysis apparatus, the blood pump comprising a pneumatically actuated or controlled reciprocating diaphragm pump. In an embodiment, the diaphragm of the pump comprises a flexible membrane formed or molded to generally conform to a curved inner wall of a pumping chamber or control chamber of the pump, wherein the diaphragm is pre-formed or molded to have a control side taking a convex shape, so that any elastic tension on the diaphragm is minimized when fully extended into a control chamber of the pump. In another aspect, a system for monitoring the adequacy of blood flow in a blood line of the hemodialysis apparatus allows a controller to suspend dialysate pumping operations if the adequacy of blood flow in the blood line is sub-optimal, and to present information on a display on the quality of blood flow in the blood line.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRESSURE REGULATION
A system for maintaining a desired pressure difference between a first pressure within a chamber and a reference pressure at a reference space. The system may include a peristaltic pump located along a duct that connects the chamber with the reference space. The system may further include a pressure sensor for monitoring an actual pressure difference between the first pressure within the chamber and the reference pressure at the reference space. The system may also include a controller for receiving a signal from the pressure sensor for determining the actual pressure difference from the pressure sensor and for operating the peristaltic pump, in accordance with the actual pressure difference and the desired pressure difference, to increase, decrease or leave unchanged the pressure within the chamber so as to maintain the actual pressure difference within predetermined proximity to the desired pressure difference.
Controlled hydronic distribution system
A hydronic distribution system includes self-regulating valves networked together and operable to share valve temperature and valve position information with a microprocessor or other type of controller. The microprocessor runs one or more algorithms that process the temperatures and positions of the valves and then computes a desired speed for one or more variable speed pumps within the system. Controlling the pumps to operate at the desired speed and still maintain the correct amount of process fluid flow needed by the system reduces the overall energy use of the hydronic distribution system, saves on the operational lives of the pumps, and increases system efficiency.
Pressure washer with hose reel and motor pump assembly
A pressure assisted washer or pressure washer with hose reel and motor pump assembly. The hose reel defines a bore in which a motor pump assembly is disposed. The hose reel comprises a cylinder having an aperture through which pressurized fluid can be accessed through a coupling in fluid communication with a pump. The pump has a rotating collar.
Fuel system and aircraft
Provided is a fuel system that can reduce the amount of fuel in a second tank before the amount of fuel in a first tank. A fuel system includes: a first tank and a second tank that respectively store fuel; a fuel supply pump that supplies at least the fuel in the first tank out of the first and second tanks to a fuel consuming section; a transfer pump that transfers the fuel in the second tank into the first tank; and a fuel passage having an inlet in communication with an inner portion of the first tank, and an outlet in communication with an inner portion of the second tank. The fuel in the first tank overflows into the second tank through the fuel passage.
CONTROLLED HYDRONIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
A hydronic distribution system obtains, in real time, valve operating information from one or more valves arranged in a network, executes a speed determination algorithm which processes the valve operating information to determine a desired speed for one or more pumps to maintain a desired amount of process fluid flow of a process fluid to plural coils, and sets a speed of the one or more pumps, based on the desired speed for the one or more pumps that is determined.
Easy-connect attachment head and adapter
An adapter connects to a valve to convert the valve to a uniform configuration for connection to a pump. In one application, a conventional Schrader or Presta valve has an adapter to convert the valve to a uniform configuration for connection to a pump. An attachment head of a pump engages and creates a seal with the adapter and has a release mechanism to disengage the attachment head from the adapter.
System and process for delivering building materials
A system and process for mixing and distributing building materials. This system and process can also include a way or a means for calibrating the mixing of these materials. This system and process can also include a system for tracking the materials that flow through the system, and for controlling the type of material used in the system.
