BODILY FLUID COMPOSITION ANALYZER WITH DISPOSABLE CASSETTE
Disclosed is an apparatus for analyzing the composition of bodily fluid. The apparatus can include a fluid handling network including a patient end configured to maintain fluid communication with a bodily fluid in a patient and a pump unit in operative engagement with the fluid handling network. The pump unit can have an infusion mode, in which the pump unit is operable to deliver infusion fluid to the patient through the patient end, and a sample draw mode, in which the pump unit is operable to draw a sample of the bodily fluid from the patient through the patient end. The apparatus can include a spectroscopic analyzer positioned to analyze at least a portion of the sample; a processor in communication with or incorporated into the spectroscopic analyzer; and stored program instructions executable by the processor to obtain measurements of two or more properties of the sample.
FLUID HANDLING CASSETTE
A fluid handling module that is removably engageable with a bodily fluid analyzer is provided. The module may comprise a fluid handling element, and a fluid component separator that is accessible via the fluid handling element and configured to separate at least one component of a bodily fluid transported to the fluid component separator. The fluid handling element may have at least one control element interface.
Slam-Shut Safety Assembly for Providing Redundant Safety Shutoff
A slam-shut safety assembly configured to provide redundant safety shutoff in a gas distribution system. The slam-shut safety assembly includes a valve body, a first slam-shut safety device coupled to the valve body, and a second slam-shut safety device coupled to the valve body. The valve body has an inlet, an outlet, and defines a flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet. The first slam-shut safety device is configured to block the flow path at a first position responsive to an overpressure condition or an underpressure condition. The second slam-shut safety device is configured to block the flow path at a second position responsive to the overpressure condition or the underpressure condition.
Active valve for ventilators
A method for controlling a ventilator includes the steps of providing an inhalation pressure limit, determining when a pressure in a connection to a patient circuit is greater than the inhalation pressure limit, and opening the valve when the pressure is greater than the inhalation pressure limit. An associated computer readable medium for controlling the method is also described.
PRESSURIZED CLEANING SYSTEM
A washing system that includes a vessel for storing a cleaning solution, an inlet connection point for pressurizing the vessel, and an outlet connection point for dispensing the cleaning solution. In one embodiment, the washing system includes a regulator valve configured to remain open and allow the inside of the vessel to be filled with pressurized gas via the inlet connection point when pressure inside the vessel is below a predetermined value and automatically close when pressure inside the vessel exceeds the predetermined value. In another embodiment, the washing system includes a relief valve (e.g., at the top of the vessel) that is configured to remain closed when pressure inside the vessel is below a predetermined value and automatically open when pressure inside the vessel exceeds the predetermined value.
VALVE SYSTEM WITH ISOLATION DEVICE
An on/off valve controls circulation of mediums in an upstream pipeline and a downstream pipeline of the on/off valve; a valve stem of the on/off valve is connected with an on/off actuating mechanism; the upstream pipeline of the on/off valve is connected with a pilot trigger mechanism through a communicating pipe, the pilot trigger mechanism is connected with the on/off actuating mechanism, and the pilot trigger mechanism triggers the on/off actuating mechanism. An isolation device is arranged on the communicating pipe and isolates the communicating pipe into an upstream portion and a downstream portion through a pressure sensing component. The pressure sensing component senses a medium pressure from the upstream pipeline and feed back the pressure to the pilot trigger mechanism, thereby causing an action of the pilot trigger mechanism. A non-viscous and incompressible fluid is filled between the downstream of the communicating pipe and the pilot trigger mechanism.
Solenoid valve assembly with pilot pressure control
A valve assembly includes a valve body with an interior cavity and one or more supply ports, a control port, and an exhaust port each fluidly connected to the interior cavity. An armature assembly is movable within the interior cavity from a first position to a second position in response to the coil being energized. In some configurations, a regulator body, which is connected to the valve body, has an exhaust passage fluidly connected to the exhaust port. A regulator valve in the regulator body prevents fluid flow out of the exhaust passage when fluid pressure on the regulator valve is at or below a pilot pressure. The regulator valve permits fluid flow out of the exhaust passage when fluid pressure on the regulator valve is greater than the pilot pressure. The valve body is configured to provide fluid from the supply port/ports to the control port.
Autoclavable bucketless cleaning system
A cleaning system, including a vessel with an inside for storing fluid under pressure (the vessel including a first connection point for dispensing fluid from the vessel that is configured to be in a closed position when not connected and a second connection point for pressurizing the vessel that is configured to be in a closed position when not connected), an outlet autoclave stem for installing in the cleaning system so that steam may pass through the first connection point during autoclaving, and an inlet autoclave stem for installing in the cleaning system so that steam may pass through the first connection point during autoclaving.
