Transdermal device including porous microparticles
The present invention relates to a transdermal device including porous microparticles capable of containing an active principle, in particular nicotine, and to the use thereof as a drug, in particular for tobacco cessation. The present invention further relates to a method for preparing a transdermal device including porous microparticles filled with an active principle.

An incontinence detection system monitors an area for moisture events and wirelessly transmits moisture-related information to one or more notification devices. The system has a pad that includes a substrate and one or more sensors supported by the substrate. The sensor(s) emit wireless signals indicative of the moisture-related information. A sensor event communication system forwards the sensor signals to another device, such as a notification device. Portions of the system are included in a patient support apparatus, such as a bed.
SHEETS OF POLYMERIZED SILOXANE AND RELATED METHODS FOR PROVIDING INSULATION BETWEEN AN INTERIOR OF AN ENCLOSURE AND OUTSIDE OF A WINDOW
Sheets of polymerized siloxane and related methods for providing insulation between an interior of an enclosure and outside of a window are disclosed. According to an aspect, a method includes providing a sheet of polymerized siloxane. The method also includes placing the sheet to at least substantially cover a pane of a window of an enclosure. Further, the method includes attaching the placed sheet to the window for providing insulation between an interior of the enclosure and outside of the window.
Web material application systems and methods
A system for cutting a web material and applying the web material on a substrate. The system comprises a feed roll configured to advance a web material. The system includes an anvil roll configured to receive the web material from the feed roll and provide a section of web material having a defined length. The system includes a cutting element configured to cut the web material to form the section of web material. The anvil roll is configured such that the anvil roll surface advances at an anvil roll surface speed. The feed roll is configured to rotate at a first feed roll surface speed that is slower than the anvil roll surface speed and a second feed roll surface speed that is substantially the same as the anvil roll surface speed when the cutting element cuts the web material.
Electrochromic window fabrication methods
Methods of manufacturing electrochromic windows are described. An electrochromic device is fabricated to substantially cover a glass sheet, for example float glass, and a cutting pattern is defined based on one or more low-defectivity areas in the device from which one or more electrochromic panes are cut. Laser scribes and/or bus bars may be added prior to cutting the panes or after. Edge deletion can also be performed prior to or after cutting the electrochromic panes from the glass sheet. Insulated glass units (IGUs) are fabricated from the electrochromic panes and optionally one or more of the panes of the IGU are strengthened.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PAINT-ROLLER MANUFACTURING WITH INTEGRATED FINAL CUTTING ONLINE AND FOR CONDITIONING PAINT-ROLLER COVER FABRIC
A paint roller manufacturing system and method are described. In an embodiment, an inner strip of material and an outer strip of material are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. The inner strip of material and the outer strip of material each comprise material that results in a final paint roller which shrinks by less than 2.5 percent of the final paint roller axial length, or which has shrinkage that varies by less +/−0.1%, upon hardening and setting. An adhesive is applied to at least a portion of the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. A length of fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube, and compression is applied to the paint roller tube while advancing the paint roller tube in a direction parallel to the mandrel.
INCONTINENCE DETECTION METHOD
An incontinence detection pad has an RFID tag in which an authentication code, such as an electronic product code (EPC), is stored. A reader in wireless communication with the RFID tag of the incontinence detection pad verifies that the incontinence detection pad is an authorized detection pad. Thus, unauthorized incontinence detection pads that do not have the proper authentication code are not able to be used in an incontinence detection system.
Low cost optical package
An optical package having a patterned submount, an optoelectronic device mounted to the patterned submount, a spacer affixed on one side to the patterned submount, the spacer having a bore hole therethrough wherein the optoelectronic device is positioned, and an optical element affixed to the spacer on a side opposite the patterned submount and covering the spacer bore hole. The patterned submount may be a circuit board. The optoelectronic device may be a VCSEL. The spacer may be affixed to the circuit board, for example, using an epoxy preform or an adhesive laminate. The spacer may, for example, be manufactured from a sheet of stainless steel or from a circuit board. The optical element may be, for example, a diffuser, a concave lens, a convex lens, a holographic element, polarizers, or diffraction gratings. The optical element may be affixed to the spacer using an epoxy preform or an adhesive laminate.
Weighted inlays for transaction cards
An inlay for a transaction card includes a weighted member and a surround positioned around a perimeter of the weighted member. A first film is positioned on a first surface of the weighted member and a first surface of the surround and a second film is positioned on a second surface of the weighted member and a second surface of the surround.
