Method for manufacturing coreless paper roll
10889458 · 2021-01-12 · ·

A coreless paper roll manufacturing method includes: unrolling a wide tissue web from a parent roll; spraying adhesive on the wide tissue web; winding the wide tissue web on a winding mandrel to form a log roll; and cutting the log roll to form a plurality of paper rolls. The spraying includes depositing a first adhesive, having a bonding strength capable of solidifying the wide tissue web wound on the winding mandrel and separating a sheet of tissue from the solidified wide tissue web, on parts of the wide tissue web from which the wide tissue web starts to be wound, the parts including both ends of the wide tissue web in the width direction and positions at which the log roll is cut, and depositing a second adhesive having a lower bonding strength than the first adhesive on parts between the parts where the first adhesive is deposited.

Method for providing a hermetically sealed feedthrough with co-fired filled via for an active implantable medical device

A method for making a dielectric substrate configured for incorporation into a hermetically sealed feedthrough is described. The method includes forming a via hole through a green-state dielectric substrate. A platinum-containing paste is filled into at least 90% of the volume of the via hole. The green-state dielectric substrate is then subjected to a heating protocol including: a binder bake-out heating portion performed at a temperature ranging from about 400 C. to about 700 C. for a minimum of 4 hours; a sintering heating portion performed at a temperature ranging from about 1,400 C. to about 1,900 C. for up to 6 hours; and a cool down portion at a rate of up to 5/minute from a maximum sintering temperature down to about 1,000 C., then naturally to room temperature. The thusly manufacture dielectric substrate is then positioned in an opening in a ferrule that is configured to be attached to a metal housing of an active implantable medical device. The dielectric substrate is hermetically sealed to the ferrule with the sintered platinum material in the via hole providing a conductive pathway from a body fluid side to a device side of the ferrule.

Foil Laminate Intermediate and Method of Manufacturing

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a metal foil laminate which may be used for example to produce an antenna for a radio frequency (RFID) tag, electronic circuit, photovoltaic module or the like. A web of material is provided to at least one cutting station in which a first pattern is generated in the web of material. A further cutting may occur to create additional modifications in order to provide additional features for the intended end use of the product. The cutting may be performed by a laser either alone or in combinations with other cutting technologies.

ELECTROCHROMIC WINDOW FABRICATION METHODS

Methods of manufacturing electrochromic windows are described. An electrochromic device is fabricated to substantially cover a glass sheet, for example float glass, and a cutting pattern is defined based on one or more low-defectivity areas in the device from which one or more electrochromic panes are cut. Laser scribes and/or bus bars may be added prior to cutting the panes or after. Edge deletion can also be performed prior to or after cutting the electrochromic panes from the glass sheet. Insulated glass units (IGUs) are fabricated from the electrochromic panes and optionally one or more of the panes of the IGU are strengthened.

Method of making a fitted sheet

A method of making a fitted sheet includes the steps of: affixing a plurality of elastic members along the lateral side edge portions of a sheet material, cutting the sheet material to a pre-determined length, cutting out corners from the sheet material of a pre-determined length, and forming corners in the sheet material of pre-determined length by affixing edge portions of the corners. A fitted sheet has a top portion with two lateral side panels and two end side panels. Each side panel may be at an angle to the top portion. Each side panel has lateral edge portions. The lateral edge portion of one side panel may be affixed to the lateral edge portion of the adjacent side panel. A plurality of elastic members is affixed to opposing side panels. No plurality of elastic members is affixed to the other side panels.

Method of producing a composite multi-layered printed absorbent article

A method for producing a composite multi-layered absorbent article. At least two of the layers include a colored region.

Weighted transaction card

Weighted transaction cards and methods of manufacturing the same. The weighted transaction cards may include a tungsten member that comprises at least a portion of a layer of the transaction card. The tungsten member may be encapsulated and/or disposed in an opening of a surround to define an inlay. The inlay may be laminated with one or more additional layers according to traditional card manufacturing techniques (e.g., a hot lamination process). The weighted transaction cards may have a weight significantly greater than traditional plastic transaction cards.

Fan blade with variable thickness composite cover

A fan blade having an opening on one side exposing one or more cavities, and a composite cover that fits over the opening, is provided. The composite cover has a variable thickness resulting from the layering of cover plies having different shapes, and is designed to achieve a lightweight fan blade having an optimal level of stiffness.

SEPARABLE COMPOSITE ARTICLES IN SHEET OR ROLL FORM

A linear series of connected unitary sheet-like articles, each of which comprises a panel flatly conjoined along a unifying flat bond zone with a flexible elastic layer that extends away from the panel and includes an elastic fastening loop. Adjacent articles of the series are ruptureably connected in a manner permitting the series to be handled as a unit while at the same time permitting ruptureable separation of individual articles from the series. In one embodiment, the linear series is wound into roll form.

COLLAPSIBLE VANE STRUCTURE AND RELATED METHOD FOR A SHADE FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL OPENING

A base structure and associated method for converting the base structure into an operable vane on a shade for an architectural opening. The base structure includes a back sheet and a front sheet attached together in engagement regions spaced along the length of the back sheet and front sheet. The front sheet is separated into front strip sections having a free end. Operating elements are positioned along the back sheet and situated so as to move relative thereto. The operating elements are attached adjacent to a free end of the front strip. Movement of the operating elements actuates the free end of the front strip to move from a closed position to an open position as desired by the user.
