Labels compatible with recycling

Adhesive compositions, facestocks and/or packaging labels containing same, where such compositions, facestocks and/or labels designed to facilitate the recyclability of a plastic article formed from any suitable polymer or mixture of polymers (e.g., a polyethylene terephthalate (PET), recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), high density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyesters, recycled polyesters, polylacticacid (PLA), biopolymers, cellulose or other types of polymers or plastics) are described. Methods for removing an adhesive composition, facestock and/or packaging label containing same, from a plastic article that is to be recycled and/or subjected to multi-generational recycling are also provided.

Floor covering with universal backing and methods of making and recycling

A dimensionally stable universal floor covering includes a tufted textile having stitches and a reinforcement layer operatively connected to the stitches to provide dimensional stability for the entire floor covering. The reinforcement layer is made of fibers and adhesive that are formed into a reinforcement layer of laminated fibers that is operatively connected to the stitches and/or the fibers and adhesive are formed into a layer of fibers and adhesive that is contained within the stitches. The fibers and adhesive are mixed and then moved by an applicator toward the stitches. A curved slip path is formed on a curved portion of the applicator to improve the movement of the fibers and adhesive toward the stitches. A removable tip portion on the end of the curved portion of the applicator improves the penetration of the adhesive and provides compression of the fibers towards the ends of the stitches. A releasable adhesive cover system is provided to cover the layer of fibers for providing additional strength and stability and for providing a releasable attachment of the universal floor covering to a supporting surface.

METHOD FOR DEBONDING TEMPORARILY ADHESIVE-BONDED CARRIER-WORKPIECE PAIR BY USING CHEMICAL AND MECHANICAL MEANS
20180264797 · 2018-09-20 ·

In debonding a temporarily adhesive-bonded carrier-workpiece pair by a combination of chemical and mechanical methods, solvents or chemicals are used to remove the adhesives primarily through dissolution, and a thin wire, filament, or blade is used to exert a cutting or wedging action between the carrier and workpiece. The two methods are used together during the debonding process. In the carrier-workpiece pair, the workpiece can be a semiconductor wafer that has been thinned and processed. The carrier and the workpiece are temporarily bonded using an adhesive dissolvable in a selected chemical or solvent. The chemical and mechanical debonding (CMDB) method can be carried out in solvent immersion or in solvent spray to provide high throughput debonding. The dissolved adhesives can be recycled and later reused, thus lowering the cost of the whole bonding and debonding process.

METHOD FOR DEBONDING TEMPORARILY ADHESIVE-BONDED CARRIER-WORKPIECE PAIR BY USING HIGH PRESSURE SOLVENT

A method of debonding a temporarily adhesive-bonded carrier-workpiece pair employs a stream of a solvent at a high pressure. The carrier and the workpiece are bonded with an adhesive that is dissolvable in a selected solvent. The workpiece such as a device wafer may have been thinned and processed. The solvent is applied to the adhesive at a high pressure to debond and dissolve the adhesive with high throughput. The dissolved adhesive can be recycled and later reused, thus lowering the cost of the whole bonding and debonding process.

Immersion de-taping

Embodiments using immersion de-taping are described. A substrate having a substrate tape attached thereto is provided. The substrate includes electrically conductive connectors attached to the substrate tape. A fluid is provided between the substrate and the substrate tape. While the fluid is between the substrate and the substrate tape, the substrate tape is removed from the substrate. Another embodiment is an apparatus comprising an immersion tank, a substrate chuck, first and second fixed rollers, and a moveable roller. The substrate chuck is configured to secure a substrate and to place the substrate into the immersion tank. The first fixed roller is operable to dispense a clamp tape. The second fixed roller is operable to roll the clamp tape. The moveable roller is operable to extend into the immersion tank and to adhere the clamp tape to a substrate tape on the substrate.

PEELING DEVICE OF SHEET MATERIAL INCLUDING OPTIMIZED OUTLET

The present invention relates to a peeling device of sheet material for peeling off graphite, and the peeling device of sheet material according to the present invention is characterized in that a specific microchannel is used to apply a shear force required to peel off graphite, and simultaneously, graphene itself is not ground and the discharge flow rate of the graphene dispersion increases to increase graphene preparation efficiency.

There is disclosed an in-mould labelling process for the manufacture of a labelled article comprising the steps of: feeding a labelstock web into a mould; forming an article in the mould such that the formed article contacts and effectively adheres to a label of the labelstock web; detaching the adhered label from the labelstock web; and removing the formed and labelled article from the mould.

Water based solution for decoupling graphene from copper substrates by oxidation

A method for delaminating a graphene layer from a metal catalyst substrate. The method includes depositing the graphene layer on the metal catalyst substrate to form a layered structure and soaking the layered structure in a water-based solution comprising water and a water-miscible organic solvent such that the water-based solution intercalates between the graphene layer and the metal catalyst substrate and oxidizes the metal catalyst substrate for delamination of the graphene layer from the metal catalyst substrate.

Manufacturing method of adhesive layer and display device comprising the adhesive layer manufactured thereby

A manufacturing method of an adhesive layer includes: providing a preliminary adhesive layer, attaching a mask to a first area portion of the preliminary adhesive layer, and thereby, provide a second area portion of the preliminary adhesive layer that is adjacent to the first area portion and to which the mask is not attached, to provide an adhesive layer that exhibits good folding reliability. In addition, a display device may exhibit good folding reliability characteristics by including the adhesive layer from which an adhesion force of a folding area is reduced between a supporting member and a display panel of the display device.
