Umbrella having anti-inversion mechanism
An umbrella includes an anti-inversion mechanism that is configured to apply to each rib assembly a force that counters an inversion force that is applied to the umbrella. The anti-inversion mechanism includes a first rib joint that is coupled to first and second ribs, a first elongated member that is coupled to the first rib joint and a second elongated member that is coupled to the first elongated member and to the distal rib. The first rib joint includes an inner slot and the first elongated member comprises a wire having a bent clip portion at a first end of the wire, the bent clip portion being received within the inner slot and being biased against a floor of the inner slot resulting in the wire being attached to the first rib joint.

Arthritic-aiding triple-sail wind-rotating wind-aligning umbrella
An arthritic-aiding triple-sail wind-rotating wind-aligning auditory-pin-snap-locking-and-centering umbrella comprising: first and second and third arthritic-aiding canopy-rotating-and-aligning sails, a canopy attached to the first and second and third arthritic-aiding sails and having tension-adjusting oval openings, a pole having a fixed hub and a movable hub and at least one pin opening, an adjustable hub-rotation-preventing slot formed in the pole, an adjustable hub-rotation-preventing peg attached to the fixed hub and inserted into the adjustable hub-rotation-preventing slot, an arthritic-aiding ring elevator attached to the movable hub, tension-adjusting rods, rod-locking screws respectively screwed through the tension-adjusting oval openings and into the tension-adjusting rod, three pulleys respectively screwed to the fixed and movable hubs, a pulley cord threaded on the three pulleys and attached to the movable hub, two oval cord-locking gear cams attached to the movable hub, at least one pin opening drilled through the pole, a locking pin having an arthritic-aiding ergonomic grip ring, a recess molded on the locking pin, at least one pin-centering-and-guiding plug and tube having built-in auditorily-snap-locking leaf springs and leaf-spring towers inserted into the pole and aligned with the at least one pin opening, and a tower-locking screw screwed between the leaf-spring towers for locking the towers inside the pole.
Umbrella
Disclosed is an umbrella that can be used as a canopy to protect a user against rain or sunlight. The umbrella may comprise an elongate member having proximal and distal end portions, a support structure that is connectable to a canopy able to be disposed about the distal end portion of the elongate member, the support structure being be adjustable between an erect position, whereby the canopy is able to be tensioned by the support structure, and a collapsed position, whereby the tension in the canopy is able to be released. The umbrella may also include a plurality of biasing means configured to inhibit the support structure from inverting.
