The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock for a motor vehicle door arrangement, wherein a catch and a pawl are provided. The catch can be brought into an opening position and into a closed position. The catch may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. The pawl may be brought into an engagement position. The pawl may be deflected into a release position. A pawl actuation lever is provided for deflecting the pawl. An engagement arrangement is provided. The engagement arrangement comprises a deflection lever on the side of the pawl actuation lever and a counter contour on the side of the pawl. The deflection lever is configured to engage the counter contour. An actuation movement of the pawl actuation lever can deflect the pawl into the release. An inertial characteristic of the deflection lever causes a deflection movement along a free-wheeling path.

Self-aligning modular latch

A container is disclosed that has a housing and a lid. The lid has a planar portion and a latch that is freely movable parallel to the planar portion of the lid. The latch has a retention feature and a first reference surface that is perpendicular to the planar portion of the lid. There is a latch mechanism coupled to the housing that has an engagement element configured to engage the retention feature of the latch and a first alignment feature having a first alignment surface. The first alignment feature is configured to laterally displace the latch in a first direction such that the first reference surface aligns with the first alignment surface when the lid is brought together with the housing with the fastener laterally displaced away from the engagement element in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction.

Resiliently Mounted Strike Plate of an Electromagnetic Door Lock

A strike plate mounting bolt assembly for resiliently mounting a strike plate to a door. The strike plate mounting bolt assembly includes a bolt and a post wherein the bolt is securably engageable with the post. The bolt is inserted through a bore in the door and the post is inserted through a bore in the strike plate. A resilient member such as at least one Belleville washer is disposed between a head of the post and a cavity in the strike plate wherein the at least one Belleville washer is compressed between the post head and cavity upon securing the bolt and post together to provide a resilient mount between the door and strike plate. The at least one Belleville washer may be a number of Belleville washers selectable stacked to form a pack of Belleville washers. By varying the number and orientation of the Belleville washers, the force/deflection characteristics of the pack may be tuned to accommodate the needs of a variety of electromagnetic lock design features.

The invention relates to a lock (1) for an openable body section of a motor vehicle including: a lever (10) for opening said openable body section intended for allowing the opening of the openable body section; a locking means (12) configured to adopt an operative locking position in which said locking means (12) locks said opening lever (10) and an inoperative position in which said locking means (12) allows the movement of said lever (10); a resilient locking return means (14) configured so as to move said locking means (12) from the inoperative position to the operative locking position; and a triggering means (16) configured so as to adopt an inoperative position in which said triggering means (16) locks the locking means (12) in the inoperative position thereof and an operative unlocking position in which said trigger (16) releases said locking means (12) in order for the later to pass from the inoperative position to the operative locking position, the opening lever (10) including a driving means (11c) configured to move the locking means (12) from the operative locking position to the inoperative position when the opening lever (10) pivots towards the direction in which the openable body section opens.

Dual function security/fire locking mechanism for fire rated devices

An exit device located in a door frame having a door strike including a latchbolt assembly, a pushbar assembly, and a link assembly. The latchbolt assembly includes an extended position configured to engage the door strike, and a retracted position configured to move past the door strike. The pushbar assembly moves from a released position to a pressed position to move the latchbolt assembly from the extended position to the retracted position. The link assembly is operatively connected to the pushbar assembly and includes a security link having an elongated aperture and a pin configured to extend through the elongated aperture about which the security link rotates. A keeper surrounds the pin and supports the security link for rotation. In the event of extreme heat, the keeper melts and the security link moves to a position to substantially prevent opening of the door.

A switchable coupling arrangement comprises a first coupling lever on the side of the pawl actuation lever, a second coupling lever on the side of the pawl and a moveable coupling element that may be moved into a closing position for a coupling engagement with the two coupling levers and into an opening position for decoupling the two coupling levers. The coupling element is arranged on one of the two coupling levers.

The crash element is acting on the switchable coupling or is part of the switchable coupling in such a way that bringing the crash mechanism into the crash condition opens the switchable coupling and lets the actuation of the pawl actuation arrangement run free.

A lock with a locking mechanism comprises a rotary catch, a pawl for engaging the rotary catch, a blocking lever capable of blocking the pawl if the latter is located in its catching position, and a releasing lever for opening or releasing the locking mechanism. When the releasing lever is actuated, the pawl and, if applicable, the blocking lever is moved out of its blocking position provided that the releasing lever is moved in a usual manner and the releasing lever is not exposed to increased or excessive accelerations. In case of an increased or excessive acceleration of the releasing lever such as caused by a crash or impact, an arresting device prevents the releasing lever from disengaging the pawl and optionally the blocking lever of the pawl. The arresting device is further releasable with the return of the releasing lever to the initial rest position.
