Method of treating joint in ceramic assembly
A method of forming an improved sealed joint between two or more shaped ceramic structures includes providing at least first and second ceramic structures joined together by a joint comprising one or more of silicon, a silicon alloy and a silicon compound, the joint including an exposed portion interior of the joined structures, then converting at least a portion of the one or more of silicon, a silicon alloy, and a silicon compound of the joint to silicon nitride and/or silicon carbide, desirably at least at an interior exposed portion of the joint, so as to provide increased chemical resistance for the joint when aggressive chemicals are used within device formed from the sealed-together ceramic structures. The ceramic structures desirably comprise silicon carbide.
Component connection
A component connection is provided. The component connection has a first component, at least a first male fixing element projecting from the first component, and a second component, the second component has at least a female fixing element, into which the male fixing element is fitted. At least the first component consists of a fiber-reinforced plastic material.
PERFORATED PANEL CONNECTION
A server enclosure having a plurality of panels abutted to one another and constrained by a connector having a channel and at least one aperture. Each respective panel has at least one perpendicular portion being perpendicular to a face of the respective panel and adjoining a perimeter of the respective panel. Connectivity media coincident to the aperture can affix at least two panels and a connector to one another.
Sodium-resistant joining glass and the use thereof
The sodium-resistant joining glass (1) is substantially free of ZrO.sub.2 and is based on a SiO.sub.2B.sub.2O.sub.3Na.sub.2OAl.sub.2O.sub.3 glass system. It is suitable for producing a joint of a metal and/or ceramic component with a further joining component (2, 3, 4) using the joining glass (1). Feedthrough-devices (20) using the joining glass (1) as fixing material are also disclosed.
Device for the attachment of an object by injection of liquid
The invention relates to a device for the attachment of an object to another object comprising an interface insert (1) intended to be positioned between said objects and comprising a chamber (3). One of the two objects is attached to the insert (1), and the other object is attached to a mobile connecting element (2) inserted into said chamber (3). A liquid that is capable of solidifying is injected into the chamber (3) of the insert (1). As long as the liquid (4) has not solidified, the relative position between the two objects may be adjusted. Once this position is considered to be satisfactory, the solidification of the liquid (4) will permit the two objects to be set one in relation to the other.
Method of fixation for a mechanical dowel
An anchoring method of anchoring an anchoring element in a construction object is provided, where a surface of which object has at least one of pores in a surface, structures in a surface (such as an arrangement of ridges with undercut), a inhomogeneous characteristic with makes the penetration of a surface by a liquid under pressure possible, thereby creating pores filed by the liquid underneath the surface, and of a cavity. The method includes the steps of: providing a first element and a second element, the first element comprising a thermoplastic material; positioning the first element in a vicinity of said surface and/or of said cavity, respectively, and positioning the second element in contact with the first element; and causing a third element to vibrate while loading the first element with a force, thereby applying mechanical vibrations to the first element, and simultaneously loading the first element with a counter-force by the second element.
WELDED BLANK ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A welded blank assembly is formed by welding first and second sheet metal pieces together at a weld joint. At least one of the sheet metal pieces includes a boron steel or press hardenable steel base material layer and an aluminum-based coating material layer, along with a weld notch where at least a portion of the coating material layer is removed before welding. An additional material can be provided during welding to influence weld joint composition and/or a secondary heat source can be used to heat and flow a protective material in a weld region of the blank assembly. The weld notch has a width that may be related to the width of a heat-affected zone formed during welding.
Implantable lead with flexible paddle electrode array
A neurostimulation system is disclosed herein. The neurostimulation system includes an implantable pulse generator and an implantable therapy lead configured to be electrically coupled to the implantable pulse generator. The implantable therapy lead includes a flexible paddle electrode array with flexible electrodes. Each flexible electrode has a segmented configuration having first and second electrode segments and a flexible bridge or living hinge joining together the first and second electrode segments.

Each respective panel has at least one perpendicular portion being perpendicular to a face of the respective panel and adjoining a perimeter of the respective panel. Connectivity media coincident to the aperture can affix at least two panels and a connector to one another.
