HUMAN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PEPTIDES FOR THE INHALATORY TREATMENT OF INFLAMMATORY PULMONARY ISSUES
The present invention relates to the use of human anti-inflammatory peptides in the inhalatory treatment of inflammatory pulmonary diseases. The invention in particular relates to the use of vasoactive intestinal peptide, C-type natriuretic peptide, B-type natriuretic peptide, pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating peptide, adrenomedullin, alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone, relaxin and Interferon gamma for said purposes. Advantageous features of an aerosol containing such a human anti-inflammatory peptide and a method for producing said aerosol are disclosed. The present invention further relates to a kit for inhalatory treatment of inflammatory pulmonary diseases. One aspect relates to treatment of CoViD-19 related ARDS.
LEVOSIMENDAN FOR TREATING PULMONARY HYPERTENSION WITH HEART FAILURE WITH PRESERVED EJECTION FRACTION (PH-HFpEF)
This invention relates to the treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (PH-HFpEF). More specifically, embodiments of the invention provide compositions and methods useful for the treatment of PH-HFpEF employing the use of levosimendan.
TREATMENT OF CARDIAC REMODELLING
The present invention provides a polypeptidic compound for use in prevention or treatment of cardiac remodeling in a subject, the polypeptidic compound comprising the amino acid sequence of proANP.sub.31-67, or an amino acid sequence having at least 80% sequence identity thereto.
TREATMENT FOR SARS-COV-2 AND OTHER CORONAVIRUSES
A method of treating a corona virus infection in a human includes administering to the human an effective amount of at least one a natriuretic peptide (NP) and a neprilysin inhibitor (NI). A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of corona virus in a human includes one of a recombinant natriuretic peptide (rNP) and a chimeric natriuretic peptide D (CD-NP) and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
Modulating bone growth in treating scoliosis
The present specification provides, amongst other things, a method of treating scoliosis comprising delivering a therapeutically acceptable amount of a growth modulator to an epiphyseal growth plate to correct or compensate for disproportionate growth.
Compounds and methods for modulating pharmacokinetics
Methods and compositions are described for management of the pharmacokinetic properties of active agents, e.g., therapeutic moieties, by conjugating, fusing, or non-direct linkage of the active agent to one or more wild-type or modified heparin-binding peptides (HB). Compounds may be administered to tissues including skin. Contemplated uses include treatment of disease, allergen immunotherapy, and immunization. Other aspects relate to compositions, methods and kits comprising heparin-binding peptides (HB) fused or conjugated to the therapeutic agents.
Cardiovascular therapeutics
Compounds and compositions comprising a B-type natriuretic signal peptide fragment agent, and methods of use thereof, are provided for the treatment or prevention of cardiovascular diseases, disorders, and conditions.
Method of treating rhinitis with C-type natriuretic peptides
The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an effective and safe therapeutic preparation for rhinitis, which not only has significant effects on improvement in rhinitis, in particular allergic rhinitis, but also is rapid in manifestation of efficacy, fast-acting, and long-lasting, without local side effects. Means for solving the problem is a therapeutic preparation for rhinitis, in particular allergic rhinitis, comprising C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) or B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) as the active ingredient.
Micro-RNA family that modulates fibrosis and uses thereof
The present invention relates to the identification of a microRNA family, designated miR-29a-c, that is a key regulator of fibrosis in cardiac tissue. The inventors show that members of the miR-29 family are down-regulated in the heart tissue in response to stress, and are up-regulated in heart tissue of mice that are resistant to both stress and fibrosis. Also provided are methods of modulating expression and activity of the miR-29 family of miRNAs as a treatment for fibrotic disease, including cardiac hypertrophy, skeletal muscle fibrosis other fibrosis related diseases and collagen loss-related disease.
