Compositions comprising satiety peptides (e.g., PYY, PYY(3-36), GLP-1, oxyntomodulin, and cholecystokinin) and DPP-IV inhibitors and methods of treating metabolic diseases with such compositions are provided.

The invention relates to PYY analogues having alanine at position 4, lysine at position 7, QRY as the C-terminal end and a half-life extending group. The analogues of the invention are soluble around pH 6 and 7. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such PYY analogues, and to the medical use of the analogues.

Intranasal neuropeptide Y (NPY) analogs having D-amino acids, such as [D.sup.26-His]-NPY are provided for early intervention to prevent or to treat, to reverse, or reduce symptoms of stress-related impairments such as PTSD, depression, substance abuse, and/or memory deficits following exposure to traumatic or surgical stress.
