Systems and methods for machining materials

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for machining a feature on a work piece along a curving tool path including a spiral pattern with continuously varying radius. In particular, the feature is scribed by a tool while varying an angle of rotation of a cutting surface of the tool with respect to the work piece to maintain a substantially constant angle between the cutting surface and a corresponding relative translational movement between the cutting surface and the work piece along the spiral pattern. A dynamic feed rate of the tool also is varied continuously with respect to the work piece based on the continuously varying radius of the at least one spiral pattern to substantially maintain a target centripetal acceleration of the tool with respect to the work piece.

Vane tip machining fixture assembly

A vane tip machining fixture assembly includes a first clamp ring mountable to a fixture, the first clamp ring includes a rigid back ring mounted to a resilient ring.

Dental blank holder

A dental blank holder for the manufacture of dental articles. The dental blank holder can include a frame configured to cooperate with a blank holder of a dental mill. The frame can includes an inner periphery and an outer periphery, the inner periphery including a plurality of receiving walls forming receiving spaces, each receiving space configured to receive a dental blank. The dental blank holder may also include a movable arm configured to form a plurality of locking walls, each locking wall configured to enclose a corresponding receiving space, the movable arm including at least one biasing member configured to apply an individual force toward each receiving space such that each of the dental blanks is held in the receiving spaces for a milling process.

Accessory covers for mobile phones or other consumer electronic devices with button assembly

A durable, accessory cover assembly for a computing device, such as a cellular phone or a tablet computer. The accessory cover includes a frame, a first covering portion, and a second covering portion. The first covering can be composed of a wear-resistant material, such as leather; whereas, the second covering can be composed of a pliable particulate-absorbing material, such as microfiber. The first covering can be configured to seamlessly cover an external bottom surface of the frame, four external lateral surfaces of the frame, and four internal later surfaces of the frame, as well as an overlap region of an internal top surface of the frame. The second covering can be configured cover a majority of the surface area of the internal top surface of the frame, where it abuts the first covering along an annular region.

System and method for the reconditioning of barrels including a robotic arm with a removable laser module

A system for reconditioning barrels comprising: a robot arm; a router assembly for routing the inside surface of a barrel; and a laser assembly for measuring the inside profile of a barrel, wherein: the router assembly is fixedly attached to the robot arm; and the laser assembly is removably attached to the router assembly thus allowing the laser assembly to be removed while the barrel is being routed in order to protect the laser from airborne particles and vibrations from the router.

A transfer center for machining at least one workpiece is disclosed, having a machine frame, having a plurality of preferably stationary machining spindles arranged in the machine frameparticularly in a machining head, having a workpiece carrier on which at least one workpiece to be machined is arranged by means of a respective clamping device, and having a workpiece manipulator arranged in the machine frame, onto which workpiece manipulator the workpiece carrier is flange-mounted and which is movable by drive means in at least one spatial direction in relation to the machine frame. To achieve a high machining accuracy in parallel machining, according to one proposal, the transfer centerin order to compensate for a deviation between the actual position and the desired position of the workpiece or workpieceshas a position compensation system with at least two pressure elements situated between the workpiece or workpieces and the machine frame, whose operating directions enclose an angle with each other.
