COMPOSTABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PACKAGING FOR A FROZEN PRODUCT
20200290321 · 2020-09-17 · ·

The present invention relates to a packaging, particularly for frozen food, which particularly comes from renewable sources, and which particularly does not compete with food production.

The problem is solved by a packaging for a frozen product, wherein at least 50 wt % of the packaging and/or its main component is formed of kraft paper and/or kraft cardboard, particularly unbleached, and/or paper, particularly fresh fiber paper.

Adhesive compositions and use thereof

The invention provides adhesives comprising at least one polymer component which contains at least 65 weight percent propylene, at least one nucleator and at least one functionalized wax. The inventive adhesives have increased heat resistance and decreased set-time, making them particularly well suited for assembly and packaging applications.

Web and method for making fluid filled units

An elongate flattened thermoplastic tube has an inflation edge and an opposite edge. The tube includes spaced transverse seals that define sides of pouches. The tube includes lines of weakness that allow adjacent dunnage units to be separated. A frangible line of connection is disposed in one two superposed layers of the tube proximate to the inflation edge. This frangible connection may be broken to permit inflation of the inflatable pouches.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY LIQUID CONTAINER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
20200062475 · 2020-02-27 ·

A container for liquids comprising a first portion forming an approximate half container portion; a second portion forming an approximate half container portion, the first and second portions having a generally convex exterior shape with flange portions along perimeters thereof; a liquid impermeable barrier film being disposed on a concave interior portion of each of the first and second portions and extending onto the flange portions; the first and second portions being sealed together at the flange portions to form a liquid impermeable container; and there being provided a location on the container for the disposition of a closure device to allow contents of the container, once filled, to be removed.

GREASE RESISTANT PAPERBOARD AND PIZZA BOX MADE THEREWITH
20200002069 · 2020-01-02 ·

A paperboard assembly adapted for food contact comprises a contacting layer made of permeable material; an external layer; and a core layer located between the contacting layer and the external layer. The core layer is adapted to impede migration of fluid therethrough, therefore a fluid contacting the contacting layer migrates at least partially through the contacting layer and is impeded from reaching the external layer by the core layer. A describes realization is a pizza box made of the paperboard assembly and a method of manufacturing the paperboard assembly.

Foldable composite material sheet and structure
10518499 · 2019-12-31 · ·

A composite material and structure. The structure has a folded sheet having a rigid inner layer sandwiched between flexible outer layers. The sheet has an undulated shape with alternating summit and valley portions. Intermediate portions each extend between adjacent summit and valley portions. At least one score line extends through at least one of the flexible outer layers. The sheet is folded about the at least one score line. A method of forming a structure from a sheet having an undulated shape.

PET containers with enhanced thermal properties and process for making same

A process is provided for making a blow-molded PET container comprising a wall having a density of between about 1.370 g/cc and 1.385 g/cc, a heat-induced crystallinity of from about 18% to about 25%, and a strain-induced crystallinity of from about 55% to about 75%, wherein the PET container, when filled with a liquid having a temperature of from about 100 C. to about 132 C. or when subjected to a pasteurization or retort process, will not experience a change in volume of greater than 3%.

Composite sheet and cargo container comprising same

This invention is directed to a non-rigid composite sheet comprising in order (i) a first component having an areal weight of from 88 to 678 gsm comprising a first fabric of filamentary yarns having a tenacity of at least 11 g/dtex and a UV and weather impervious first polymeric layer. (ii) a second component having an areal weight of from 120 to 430 gsm comprising a flame resistant paper and (iii) a third component having an areal weight of from 88 to 678 gsm comprising a second fabric of filamentary yarns having a tenacity of at least 11 g/dtex and an impact and scratch resistant second polymeric layer, the second fabric of the third component being adjacent to the paper of the second component.

SHEETLIKE COMPOSITE, IN PARTICULAR FOR THE PRODUCTION OF DIMENSIONALLY STABLE FOODSTUFF CONTAINERS, HAVING A FIRST BENDING RESISTANCE WHICH IS LESS THAN A FURTHER BENDING RESISTANCE
20190270270 · 2019-09-05 ·

The present invention refers to a sheetlike composite, comprising as a layer sequence in a direction from an outer surface of the sheetlike composite to an inner surface of the sheetlike composite a) an outer polymer layer, b) a colour application, c) a carrier layer, and d) a barrier layer; wherein the sheetlike composite comprises at least one longitudinal crease line; wherein the at least one longitudinal crease line is oriented in a first direction; wherein the sheetlike composite has a first bending resistance in the first direction; wherein a further direction is perpendicular to the first direction; wherein the sheetlike composite has a further bending resistance in the further direction; wherein the first bending resistance is less than the further bending resistance. The invention further refers to a container precursor and to a closed container, in each case comprising the preceding sheetlike composite; and to a container precursor and a closed container, in each case having a sheetlike composite with a first bending resistance along a first direction which is less than a further bending resistance along a further direction.

Method for making fluid filled units

A preformed web and a method of producing dunnage units from the preformed web. The web is an elongate flattened thermoplastic tube having an inflation edge and an opposite edge. The tube includes spaced transverse seals that define sides of pouches. In one embodiment, the web is configured such that a gap forms between each pair of adjacent pouches when the pouches are inflated. In one embodiment, an inflation edge of the web comprises a frangible connection that allows the inflation edge to be broken by an unsharpened object.
