RECYCLABLE FILMS FOR PRODUCT PACKAGING
Recyclable films for packaging a product have a composition comprising a polyethylene, and the film is oriented and irradiatively cross-linked. The recyclable films have excellent heat resistant properties, Multilayer films for packaging a product comprise an outer film comprising any recyclable film of the disclosure and a sealant layer or film. Onset of sticking by an outer surface of the recyclable film upon exposure to heat sealing conditions is at least 5 to 15 C. higher than a comparative outer surface of a comparative outer film comprising the polyethylene that is not oriented and irradiatively cross-linked.
DUST-FREE HEAT-SHRINKABLE PACKAGING ARTICLE
A heat-shrinkable packaging article comprises a heat-shrinkable film tubing having an inside heat seal layer sealed to itself with the heat seal layer having a thickness of at least 0.1 mil and made from a polymeric composition with a density <0.92 g/cc, the seal layer comprising 2000 ppm antiblock particulates of average particle size 3, fast-blooming release agent, slow-blooming release agent, and an outside layer. The packaging article can be dustless, and it passes a Standard Openability Test. Also disclosed is a dustless packaging article having a low peak or instantaneous coefficient of friction, an assembly comprising an imbricated set of packaging articles adhered to tapes, and a rotary chamber packaging process using the packaging articles. The packaging article can be dustless.
Heat-shrinkable multilayer film and heat-shrinkable label
The present invention provides a heat shrinkable multilayer film which has excellent adhesiveness between front and back layers and an interlayer not only at normal temperature but also at low temperature to effectively prevent delamination and is less likely to have residual white streaks along creases. The present invention also provides a heat shrinkable label including the heat shrinkable multilayer film. The present invention relates to a heat shrinkable multilayer film including: front and back layers each containing a polyester resin; an interlayer containing a polystyrene resin; and adhesive layers, the front and back layers and the interlayer being stacked with the adhesive layers interposed therebetween, the adhesive layers each containing 20 to 65% by weight of a polystyrene resin and 35 to 80% by weight of a polyester elastomer.
Cylindrical shrink label and method for producing same
A cylindrical shrink label is provided with a heat-shrinkable label base material; and a joint formed by cylindrically forming the label base material so that the edges thereof overlap, and then solvent welding the inner surface of the outside edge, which is positioned on the outside of the cylinder, and the outer surface of the inside edge, which is positioned on the inside of the cylinder. A resin layer, which is soluble in a hot alkaline aqueous solution, is formed on the abovementioned inner surface and/or the abovementioned outer surface, which form the joint.
Shrink-wrap film and method for jacketing elongated items, especially leads
The present invention relates to an adhesive tape and to a method for jacketing an elongated item, more particularly cable sets. The adhesive tape must cure within the operational dictates for further processing, e.g. within 6 min, and after curing must exhibit the required dimensional stability properties. However, the adhesive compositions must not cure during storage itself, since otherwise they can no longer be used. Nor may the curing temperatures be too high, since otherwise the lead insulation, which is often made of PVC, may suffer damage. The invention provides a method for jacketing an elongated item such as more particularly leads or cable sets, where a stretched shrink-wrap film is guided in a helical line around the elongated item or the elongated item is wrapped in an axial direction by the stretched shrink-wrap film, the elongated item together with the shrink-wrap film wrapping is brought into the desired disposition, more particularly into the cable set plan, the elongated item is held in this disposition and the shrink-wrap film is brought to shrink by the supply of thermal energy at a temperature of up to 130 C.
LAMINATED FILM
The invention provides a laminated film with excellent bag rupture resistance, bending resistance, and gas barrier properties before and after bag producing processing or even when a bag produced from the laminated film is used for packaging of hard contents or subjected to a harsh wet-heat treatment such as retort sterilization. The laminated film comprises an inorganic thin film layer and a protective layer in this order on a base film layer, wherein the base film layer contains a resin composition containing 60% by mass or more of a polybutylene terephthalate and has a thermal shrinkage at 150 C. of 4.0% or less both in a longitudinal direction and a width direction of the base film layer and a dimensional change rate at 200 C. with respect to an original length of the film of 2% or less in a temperature-dimensional change curve in a longitudinal direction of the base film layer.
NEW PACKAGING METHOD FOR FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
The present invention relates to a method for packaging fruits and vegetables by means of a film endowed with specific permeability and light transmittance properties.
Aircraft cabin moisture control using moisture wicking heat shrink tubing
A moisture wicking heat shrink sleeve for aircraft cabin moisture control incorporates a heat shrinkable tube of predetermined length receivable over a structural member. A moisture absorbing layer is adhered to a surface of the heat shrinkable tube with the heat shrinkable tube and adhered moisture absorbing layer configured for radial contraction from a first expanded condition to a second contracted condition upon application of heat.
Shrink film for label
A shrink film comprising a core layer comprising a glycol modified polyester, the core having an upper and lower surface; an upper skin layer disposed on the upper surface of the core layer and a lower skin layer disposed on the lower surface of the core layer, the skin layers each individually comprising (a) a resin material; and (b) an antiblocking agent.
AMORPHOUS COPOLYMERIZED POLYESTER RAW MATERIAL FOR FILM, HEAT-SHRINKABLE POLYESTER-BASED FILM, HEAT-SHRINKABLE LABEL, AND PACKAGED PRODUCT
The invention provides an amorphous copolymerized polyester raw material for a film. The raw material contains ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component, and contains from 18% by mol to 30% by mol of neopentyl glycol when a total amount of a glycol component in a total polyester resin component is taken as 100% by mol. The raw material contains from 8% by mol to 16% by mol of a constituent unit derived from diethylene glycol in the total amount (100% by mol) of the glycol component in the total polyester resin component. The raw material has an intrinsic viscosity of from 0.70 dl/g to 0.86 dl/g. The raw material has a melt viscosity of 200 Pa.Math.S or less, when measured at a shear rate of 6080/S at 250 C.
