COMPOSITION AND FILMS COMPRISING POLYLACTIC ACID POLYMER AND COPOLYMER COMPRISING LONG CHAIN ALKYL MOIETY
Compositions and films are described comprising a polylactic acid (PLA) polymer. The composition further comprises a copolymer comprising a long chain alkyl moiety. The copolymer further comprises a second moiety that is miscible in the polylactic acid polymer. In favored embodiments, the composition comprising the polylactic acid polymer and copolymer may be used to form a release layer of an adhesive article such as a pressure sensitive adhesive tape. The films may be a monolithic film or a film layer of a multilayer film. The release layer may be disposed upon a substrate layer. The substrate layer may also comprise polylactic acid polymer. The substrate layer may be coextruded with the release layer. In some favored embodiments, the film or film layer is oriented.

The polymer sheet can have at least one functional layer overlying a major surface. The polymer sheet has a thickness t.sub.PS. The polyurethane core has a thickness t.sub.PC. In embodiments t.sub.PC can be at least 0.3 t.sub.PS. The polyurethane core can have at least one of the following property: (i) a Scratch Resistance Rating, as further described herein, of not greater than about 10 wt %, (ii) an elongation at break of at least 200%, (iii) a tensile strength at break of at least 0.3 MPa, (iv) a loss of tensile strength of not greater than about 30% when exposed to UV light according to standard SAE J1960 (Rev. August 2003).
The polymer sheet can be used for gaskets or bonding tapes.
METHOD OF MAKING A SELF-ADHESIVE LAMINATE
A decorative laminate includes a laminate substrate coated with an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is a layer of a physically setting, solvent-free adhesive material including an acrylic polymer. The adhesive layer is self-adhesive at room temperature. The adhesive-coated laminate substrate has a peeling-off force of at least 0.2 N/mm.sup.2, after application on a carrier. A method for the production of the adhesive-coated laminate substrate, its use as a coating material, and a composite of the adhesive-coated laminate substrate and a carrier material are also provided.
Composition, film and related methods
A composition that is configured for use in creating a film. The composition includes a vinyl acetate containing polymer, such as a vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) copolymer, and at least one additive that is a pigment, a surfactant, a dispersant, a wetting agent, a plasticizer, a defoamer, a coupling agent, a solvent, a UV absorber, a fire retardant, or a light stabilizer.
Foam gasket and bonding tape based on polyurethane dispersions

Conformable and Die-Cuttable Machine Direction Oriented Labelstocks and Labels, and Process for Preparing
Die-cuttable and printable adhesive containing labelstocks for use in preparing die cut adhesive labels, and methods of preparing the labelstocks and die cut labels are described. The labelstocks comprise extruded machine direction oriented monolayer or multilayer films and an adhesive layer. The monolayer films comprise a mixture of about 25 percent to 80 percent by weight of a propylene polymer or copolymer, and from about 20 percent to about 75 percent by weight of a polyethylene. The films are stretch oriented in the machine direction at a temperature at about or above the melting temperature of the polyethylenes.
Bonding with adhesive beads or plots
A reinforcer includes a carrier conforming generally to one or more inner walls of a cavity, and an adhesive arranged in one or more beads between the carrier and the one or more inner walls of the cavity, such that when the one or more adhesive beads is cured, the carrier is adhered to the one or more inner walls defining the cavity.
BUILDING MEMBRANE WITH POROUS PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE
A breatheable multilayer spun bonded polypropylene membrane having a coated pressure sensitive adhesive capable of allowing air and moisture vapor to pass through it. The adhesive is formed of a copolymer comprising a backbone of n-butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and vinyl acetate which is mixed with a surfactant and emulsified to produce bubbles which form pores when the copolymer is set with about 80% to about 90% of the pore sizes ranging from about 200 microns to about 300 microns and a pore density in the cured pressure sensitive adhesive ranging from about 4200 per inch.sup.2 to about 4600 per inch.sup.2, said pores being uniformly distributed to form a flow path through adhesive.
Packaging reclosure label for high alcohol content products
The present subject matter provides a layered article for sealing an opening in a package for a high alcohol content product. The layered article has a facestock, a reclosure adhesive, a machine direction oriented film, and a sealing adhesive. The sealing adhesive provides a good long-term seal for the package that is resistant to degradation from alcohol. The machine direction oriented film provides an alcohol barrier between the product and the reclosure adhesive. Upon opening, the film tears clean and straight in the machine direction to allow a portion of the film to stay in contact with the package and another portion of the film to be pulled from the package to expose the opening. The reclosure adhesive provides resealing capabilities for the layered article after the initial opening of the package. The clean straight tear also provides a tamper evident feature for the package.
