Self-bonding fluoropolymers and methods of producing the same
10808054 · 2020-10-20 · ·

A method of making expanded fluoropolymer articles thermally bonds portions of expanded fluoropolymers together, without using an adhesive or crushing force, to produce stronger bonds at the joint between the expanded fluoropolymers than the bonds within the constituent expanded fluoropolymers. The method involves placing the portions of expanded fluoropolymers to be thermally bonded together in intimate contact with each other after wet-stretching the expanded fluoropolymers, and removing the wetting agent used to wet-stretch the expanded fluoropolymers, without subsequent expansion or stretching, to yield an expanded fluoropolymer article exhibiting unexpected and superior properties that can be used in a variety of medical and industrial applications.

THERAPY PLATFORM MULTI-LAYER ANTI-FATIGUE MATTING
20200315385 · 2020-10-08 ·

An ergonomic modular ergonomic multi-layer platform with a synthetic tapered marginal border including a non-compressible wood base covered with at least one compressible mat disposed between the wood base and a top non-slip mat to provide occupational workers with a therapeutic, forgiving work surface to protect them from the health risks of working, walking and standing on a concrete floor or common anti-fatigue mat used in many factories today. The therapy platform is raised off the floor to offer suspension, thus promoting a spring effect for absorbing and returning compression force resulting in reduced stress loads and compression force for people who work, walk or stand fort extended periods of time. The therapy platform is modular in design so that the tapered borders of separate modular sections connect for a snug fit. The vertical edges of the wood sections also have connection points that provide a leveling effect and further enhance the fit of the module sections.

Apparatus configured as a structure comprising a skin including a bond without a splice plate

A composite structure comprises stacked sets of laminated fiber reinforced resin plies and metal sheets. Edges of the resin plies and metal sheets are interleaved to form a composite-to-metal joint connecting the resin plies with the metal sheets.

Cover for flexible display panel, flexible display panel and method for manufacturing the same

An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a cover for a flexible display panel, including an organic film including a recessed portion, a reinforcing layer disposed in the recessed portion, and a first and second rigid structure adjacent to each other disposed on the organic film, the first rigid structure includes a first joint portion, and the second rigid structure includes a second joint portion, the first joint portion and the second joint portion being configured to be separated from each other when the reinforcing layer is bent, and to be joined to form a one-piece structure when the reinforcing layer is not bent. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, by providing on the organic film a reinforcing layer and rigid structures that can be joined and separated, the cover may exhibit enhanced surface hardness, impact resistance and user's feel while the bending of the cover can be realized.

UNDERLAYMENT PANEL HAVING DRAINAGE CHANNELS
20200277740 · 2020-09-03 · ·

An impact-absorbing assembly includes a covering layer being one or more of artificial turf, rubber mats, polymer mats, short pile carpeting, particulate infill, wood chips, and ground rubber chips. Also included is a layer of underlayment panels positioned beneath the covering layer. The panels have a panel section with a plurality of drain holes formed therethrough. A top surface of the panels is configured to support the covering layer. A bottom surface of the panels has a plurality of bottom projections that cooperate to define bottom channels suitable to permit water flow across the bottom surface, the bottom channels being in fluid communication with the panel drain holes. The bottom projections define a first spring rate characteristic that is part of a first stage and a second spring rate characteristic is part of a second stage, the first stage having a smaller volume of material than the second stage.

METHOD OF PEENING LAP FILLET WELDED JOINT AND WELDED STRUCTURES
20200269358 · 2020-08-27 · ·

A peening method which can sufficiently improve fatigue properties of a lap fillet welded joint having a thin steel sheet as a base sheet, in which a knocking pin having a predetermined shape is continuously knocked as a series of knocking toward a direction inclined relative to the welding direction, the series of knocking is repeatedly performed in the welding direction, at that time, a knocking mark group made of a plurality of knocking marks formed by the series of knocking is superimposed on at least a part of an adjacent knocking mark group while an end part in the direction orthogonal to the welding direction of the knocking mark group is separated from an end part in the direction orthogonal to the welding direction of the adjacent knocking mark group.

Base For Turf System

An underlayment layer is configured to support an artificial turf assembly. The underlayment layer comprises a core with a top side and a bottom side. The top side has a plurality of spaced apart, upwardly oriented projections that define channels suitable for fluid flow along the top side of the core when the underlayment layer is positioned beneath an overlying artificial turf assembly.

Carrier with localized fibrous insert and methods

A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.
