Method for producing a component from a fibre composite, preform therefor, and component

A method for producing a component from a fiber composite. A number of layers of a dry fibrous material are stacked to form a pile, the pile is covered by a thermoplastic film in a gas-tight manner, the inner space occupied by the pile within the film is pumped dry and the layers are fixed to form a preform that is stable during transport, the preform is reshaped, a liquid thermosetting material is inserted into the inner space by infiltration of the fibrous material, and the preform is hardened with the infiltrated fibrous material to form the finished component, the film binding permanently as the surface. The invention also relates to a component produced in such a way, and to a corresponding preform. The production method provides a process-integrated surface finishing of the fiber composite. The surface properties are created by the bound thermoplastic film.

The invention relates to a method for making a structure with at least a first polymer layer and a second polymer layer, each made from a polycarbonate polymer based on bisphenol A, and in between the first polymer layer and the second polymer layer an intermediate layer being arranged, comprising the following steps: a) the intermediate layer is applied at least on a partial region of the first polymer layer, b) optionally the intermediate layer is dried, c) the first polymer layer is coated on the side, on which the intermediate layer is arranged, with a liquid preparation comprising a solvent or a mixture of solvents and a polycarbonate derivative based on a geminally disubstituted dihydroxydiphenyl cycloalkane, the preparation covering the intermediate layer, d) optionally a drying step is made after step c), e) after step c) or step d), the second polymer layer is placed on the first polymer layer, covering the intermediate layer, f) the first polymer layer and the second polymer layer are laminated with each other under pressure, at a temperature from 120° C. to 230° C. and for a defined time.

PRINTED ARTICLE AND A FEEDSTOCK
20170321037 · 2017-11-09 ·

The invention relates to a printed article and a feedstock for printing comprising a matrix forming material, in particular a polymeric material, and a filler material dispersed within the matrix forming material, in which the filler material comprises glass flakes. Glass flakes are characterised as having an aspect ratio of average diameter divided by average thickness greater than or equal to three. Selecting aspect ratio of glass flakes controls an orientation of glass flakes angled relative to a printed layer and formation of a depletion layer in a printed article. Technical effects of angled flakes include better adhesion between successive printed layers in 3D printing and a crack-stopping function. In a preferred embodiment the glass flakes comprise a conductive coating such that a printed article functions as a moisture sensor. Technical effects of a depletion layer include high moisture permeability and so a fast rate of change in electrical resistance due to moisture. A process of manufacturing a feedstock and a process of printing comprising a step of providing glass flakes are also disclosed.
