Composite structure having an inorganic coating adhered thereto and method of making same
The present disclosure provides a composite structure and associated method for preparing a composite substrate comprising an inorganic coating that is adhered to an organic-based substrate via an adhesion promoting agent comprising a molecule having a urea moiety at one end of the molecule and an alkoxysilane moiety at the other end of the molecule. The use of adhesion promoting agent having at least one of an amine or imine moiety and an alkoxysilane moiety promotes tight adhesion of the inorganic coating to the substrate.
Matte finish polyimide films and methods relating thereto
The present disclosure is directed to a base film having a chemically converted polyimide, a non-carbon black pigment and a particulate polyimide matting agent. The particulate polyimide matting agent is present in an amount from 1.6 to 9 weight percent of the base film.
PREPREG, FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL, AND MOLDED ARTICLE
A prepreg comprising: carbon fibers; and a resin composition containing an epoxy resin having a biphenyl structure, a curing agent, and melamine cyanurate.

In some embodiments, an adhesive composition includes 3-ethyl-3-(2-ethylhexyloxy)methyloxetane, 3-ethyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane, 3,3-oxybis(methylene)bis(3-ethyloxetane), an aromatic epoxy compound, and an alicyclic epoxy compound, wherein the 3-ethyl-3-(2-ethylhexyloxy)methyloxetane is present in an amount of 20 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight, the 3-ethyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane is present in an amount of 2 parts by weight to 8 parts by weight, the 3,3-oxybis(methylene)bis(3-ethyloxetane) is present in an amount of 2 parts by weight to 8 parts by weight, the aromatic epoxy compound is present in an amount of 7 parts by weight to 38 parts by weight, and the alicyclic epoxy compound is present in amount of 10 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the adhesive composition.
Two-Component Moisture Curable Composition
A two-component moisture curable composition, a membrane system including the same, and a structure including the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a structure includes a substrate, and a membrane system disposed on the substrate, wherein the membrane system comprises a single layer prepared from a two-component moisture curable composition comprising a reactive organic polymer containing a reactive silyl function group and an epoxy resin, wherein the single layer functions as a primer and a base coat, the single layer disposed on the substrate, and a top coat disposed on the single layer on a surface of the single layer opposite that of the substrate. The moisture curable composition can be applied directly to an adhesion-resistant substrate without the higher number of application steps and/or other chemical treatment required with conventional compositions.
Inorganic graded barrier film and methods for their manufacture
The present invention refers to a graded barrier film comprising a layered structure, wherein the layered structure comprises a first layer consisting of metal oxide; an intermediate layer consisting of metal nitride or metal oxynitride which is arranged on the first layer; and a third layer consisting of a metal oxide which is arranged on the intermediate layer. The present invention further refers to a sputtering method for manufacturing this graded barrier film and a device encapsulated with this graded barrier film.
