The invention relates to an aqueous coating composition comprising a compound having reactive groups A, and a quaternary ammonium compound according to Formula I, II or III ##STR00001##
wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl, alkenyl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl group having from 5 to 50 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is a C.sub.1-C.sub.100 hydrocarbyl group, optionally containing heteroatoms; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are alkylene groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are H or C.sub.1-C.sub.100 hydrocarbyl group, optionally containing heteroatoms; R.sup.7 is a C.sub.1-C.sub.100 hydrocarbyl group, optionally containing heteroatoms; R.sup.8 is a C.sub.1-C.sub.100 hydrocarbyl group, optionally containing heteroatoms; R.sup.9 is H or a methyl group; Z is a substituent containing at least one reactive group B which is capable of reacting with the reactive group A; X.sup.− is an anion; y is 0 or 1; a is 0 or 1; and the sum of y and a is 1 or 2 and m is an integer from 1 to 30, preferably between 1 and 10, or between 2 and 6 n is an integer from 0-30, preferably between 1 and 10, or 2 and 6 T is a monomer unit; U is a monomer unit; V is a C.sub.1-C.sub.100 hydrocarbyl group, optionally containing hetero atoms; d is an integer between 1 and 5, preferably 1; e is an integer between 1 and 1000, preferably between 5 and 100; g is an integer between 1 and 100, preferably between 2 and 10; h is an integer between 1 and 5, preferably 2 or 3.
Multilayer film for encapsulating oxygen and/or moisture sensitive electronic devices
The present invention relates to a multilayer barrier film capable of encapsulating a moisture and/or oxygen sensitive electronic or optoelectronic device, the barrier film including at least one nanostructured layer including reactive nanoparticles capable of interacting with moisture and/or oxygen, the reactive nanoparticles being distributed within a polymeric binder, and at least one ultraviolet light neutralizing layer comprising a material capable of absorbing ultraviolet light, thereby limiting the transmission of ultraviolet light through the barrier film.

Articles including a (co)polymer reaction product of a urethane (multi)-(meth)acrylate (multi)-silane
Urethane (multi)-(meth)acrylate (multi)-silane compositions, and articles including a (co)polymer reaction product of at least one urethane (multi)-(meth)acrylate (multi)-silane precursor compound. The disclosure also articles including a substrate, a base (co)polymer layer on a major surface of the substrate, an oxide layer on the base (co)polymer layer; and a protective (co)polymer layer on the oxide layer, the protective (co)polymer layer including the reaction product of at least one urethane (multi) (meth)acrylate (multi)-silane precursor compound. The substrate may be a (co)polymeric film or an electronic device such as an organic light emitting device, electrophoretic light emitting device, liquid crystal display, thin film transistor, or combination thereof. Methods of making urethane (multi)-(meth)acrylate (multi)-silane precursor compounds and their use in composite multilayer barrier films are also described. Methods of using such barrier films in articles selected from a solid state lighting device, a display device, and combinations thereof, are also described.
Aqueous polyurethane dispersion for waterproof breathable coatings
An aqueous polyurethane dispersion comprises a polyurethane polymer obtainable by the reaction of an isocyanate-functional polyurethane prepolymer A) with an isocyanate-reactive component B), wherein the isocyanate-functional prepolymer A) is obtainable by the reaction of a mixture comprising: a polyol component comprising a polyester polyol obtainable by the reaction of a mixture comprising an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and at least one diol selected from the group consisting of linear aliphatic diols and a branched aliphatic diols; and a polyisocyanate component comprising ≧50 weight-%, based on the total weight of polyisocyanates, of dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate. The isocyanate-reactive component B) comprises a compound comprising sulfonate groups which is employed in an amount of ≧3.5 weight-% to ≦10 weight-%, based on the total weight of the polyol component, the polyisocyanate component and the isocyanate-reactive component B). The invention also concerns the use of such an aqueous polyurethane dispersion for coatings, a method of manufacturing a coated substrate and to a coated substrate.
Photochromic Polyurethane Laminate
A photochromic polyurethane laminate wherein the photochromic polyurethane layer of the laminate has been crosslinked with an isocyanate-active prepolymer using a crosslinking agent. The crosslinking agent is formulated to have at least three functional groups that are reactive with functional groups of the polyurethane or of the isocyanate-active prepolymer. A method of making the photochromic polyurethane laminate includes steps of causing the crosslinking.
Water based printable coatings
Various aqueous top coat compositions are described. The compositions include one or more polyurethane dispersions, silica, crosslinker(s), acrylic polymers, and an optional water soluble polyester. The compositions can be used to form top coats which exhibit good resistance to scratches and solvents, and improved ink retention.
Window interlayer with sound attenuation properties
The present invention discloses a method for forming a laminated window. The method includes: a) assembling a mold between two plies that make up a laminated window; b) filling the mold with a reaction mixture having: (1) at least one chain extender; (2) at least one polyether polyol having a molecular weight of approximately 1,000; and (3) at least one aliphatic polyisocyanate; and c) curing the reaction mixture.
Removable surface covering
The present invention describes a floor decoration kit comprising two elements, on the one hand a removable surface covering (2) and on the other an anchoring sublayer (3) while the composition of said anchoring sublayer (3) is PVC-based and comprises at least 60% by weight of a plasticizer.
Elastomeric body with elastic fire retardant coating
An elastomeric body suitable for anti-vibration and suspension is disclosed. The elastic body includes at least one layer of an elastic and flexible fire retardant coating covering at least a portion of the body. The at least one layer of fire retardant coating is non-halogenated and includes a fire retardant substance and an elastic binder material. The fire retardant substance includes expandable graphite. The at least one layer of coating has an elasticity greater than 20%.
