Copolyesters plasticized with polymeric plasticizer

Polyester-based films contain certain copolyesters (A) and polyester plasticizers (B). The copolyesters (A) may be selected from those in which the force required to stretch a film of the copolyester (A) by itself, from 2× to 5×, increases by less than 200%. The polyester plasticizers (B) have a weight-average molecular weight of 900 to 12,000 g/mol, and contain (i) a diol component comprising residues of diols having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and (ii) a diacid component comprising residues of dicarboxylic acids having 4 to 12 carbon atoms. These polyester-based films are particularly useful for preparing ultra-thin LCD or OLED polarizers, because they can be stretched very thin with a high stretch ratio at lower temperatures.

Printed polyester film based laminate, method of making and application thereof

The present disclosure provides a polyester film based laminate comprising: an outer polyethylene layer; a core layer of a printed polyester film; and an inner polyethylene layer; an article made of said laminate. The printing on the said polyester film based laminate can be a reverse printing. The present disclosure further provides a method for producing a polyester film based laminate.

Conductive resin composition and display device using the same

The invention produces a magnetic receptive polymer film with properties that will adhere to magnets by incorporating magnetic receptive particles in the formulation of the extruded or casted film. Furthermore, by use of the co-extrusion technique, the invention produce a print media in the form of a multilayered polymer film including a magnetic receptive core layer for adhering the film to magnets, and one or more layers attached to either one or both sides of the core layer, wherein at least one outermost surface of the layers is absent or substantially absent of ferromagnetic material and suitable to accept printing.

Edge trim for pieces of furniture

An edge trim for pieces of furniture, including a meltable layer, is described. The molecular structure of the meltable layer contains both polar and non-polar parts. By way of a non-limiting example, an edge trim for pieces of furniture having an exposed edge of wooden or wood substitute material is described, comprising a molten layer and a structural layer, wherein the structural layer and the molten layer are connected in an adhesive bond, wherein the molten layer is made of a material that is chemically modified such that polar and non-polar components are found in a single molecular structure, wherein the molten layer contains energy absorbing additives, wherein the energy absorbing additives of the molten layer are selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal phosphates, metal salts of organic anions and combinations thereof.

Composite molded article having two-layer structure

The present invention has an object of providing a molded article of a composite structure obtained by bonding a polar thermoplastic resin, especially polyacetal, with another resin in a simple manner. According to the present invention, a molded article of a composite structure obtained by bonding a polar thermoplastic resin and a resin containing an aliphatic ester structure as a main component to each other in the state where at least a face at which both of the materials contact each other is in a melted state can be provided.

POLYESTER FILM INCORPORATING SILICONE FOR RELEASE OF CANNED MEAT PRODUCTS

Embodiments herein relates to a Bisphenol A-free multi-layer biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film, for lamination on metal sheets, which could be used for food containers. The BOPET film has at least one outer release layer, which aids in the release of food, such as a high protein food source, when food is cooked and sterilized in direct contact with the outer release layer. The BOPET film can be laminated to metals used in the manufacture of food containers with the outer release layer being exposed to allow a direct food contact between the surface of the outer release layer and food. More particularly, the invention relates to a novel outer release layer resin composition comprising an ultra high molecular weight siloxane polymer and a polyethylene trephthalate resin; and an alkali-metal phosphate and a phosphoric acid compound added, during polymerization of the outer release layer resin composition, as a catalyst/additive package to the ingredients forming the outer release layer resin composition. A wax component is added in the outer release layer, for more robust release performance.

Sealing film suitable for food packaging and preparation method thereof

A sealing film suitable for food packaging is disclosed, which adopts the following solution. The sealing film comprises, in sequence, a PET layer, a VMPET layer and a PE layer from outside to inside, wherein the PE layer comprises 100-110 parts of PE, 15-20 parts of EVA, 15-20 parts of EAA, 55-60 parts of HDPE and 10-15 parts of LLDPE in parts by mass. The invention relates to a printed article and a feedstock for printing comprising a matrix forming material, in particular a polymeric material, and a filler material dispersed within the matrix forming material, in which the filler material comprises glass flakes. Glass flakes are characterised as having an aspect ratio of average diameter divided by average thickness greater than or equal to three. Selecting aspect ratio of glass flakes controls an orientation of glass flakes angled relative to a printed layer and formation of a depletion layer in a printed article. Technical effects of angled flakes include better adhesion between successive printed layers in 3D printing and a crack-stopping function. In a preferred embodiment the glass flakes comprise a conductive coating such that a printed article functions as a moisture sensor. Technical effects of a depletion layer include high moisture permeability and so a fast rate of change in electrical resistance due to moisture. A process of manufacturing a feedstock and a process of printing comprising a step of providing glass flakes are also disclosed.
